A contractual agreement was made when Magic:The Gathering's rights were completely sold off by Garfield Games to establish and fundamentally withhold a reserve list on printed cards to ensure the collect-ability of the game would instill the continuation of Magic:The Gathering as a lifetime game.
I had heard this previously, around the announcement of modern as a format, while I thought it was highly likely I couldn't find proof. Thanks for putting that argument to rest.
I'm sure vintage is great and if I had the cards to play Oath it may get my vote, but for me Legacy then edh tied with modern followed by a distant standard if it's a decent season.
Kamal, a few things: great article(?), I can identify as a player; this deck looks awesome and fun too play, I really like the one of Genesis Hydra; as much as I want BUG to be competitive I think we will have to wait til Khans. I'd whip out the debit card and build this deck but the last time I did that, dega midrange, I ended up just playing esper and getting bored after a month.
It's bogus that wotc allows TJ Collectables to be this greedy. Those playmate are for participation not prize support so you can make a few more dollars. I wanted to go to this GP but I really don't want to support this kind of bs. I will be going to Jersey knowing with confidence that I will get the mat because SCG is a decent company.
Tacoma trd off road, acquired in April. I kind of miss my old Lexus but it wasn't worth the cost to fix imo. I love my truck but I am really thinking about checking out the new Nissan Titan with the Cummins diesel in the near future. Also the wife is pretty much demanding a Subaru Crosstrek so we'll have that soon. Anyways, sweet first car, mine was my mothers Ford Taurus, the Tacoma is my first new car because buying a used Tacoma didn't make sense when I could go new for a few thousand more.
I was in the same boat 10 years ago as a young buck entering college and the weight of everyone's expectations on my shoulders, to this day I feel the same, from a philosophical point of view. My attitude brought me a lot of unnecessary suffering and things didn't get better until I changed my perspective. Honestly, you should go to college and obtain a great education so you can secure a well paying job so that you may live life on your terms and have that freedom you desire. If you can be happy with a minimum wage job and scraping by, good for you, but the way the world is today everything requires money. Sadly, we can no longer venture off into the unknown wilderness, claim our stake, hunt, farm, fish, and live the way we want unhindered.
What does it matter what name is on the card as long as the abilities are good? I have a feeling the people that dislike Jace also dislike "blue" and would be just as unhappy if they printed a powerful blue planeswalker not named Jace. A rose by any other name...
