We are still missing the beholder skeleton, right? Weird that it's not a legendary
That'a a not all the cards, just a sample, Elminster is likely in one of these decks too.
Wouldn't Elminster be Dragonlance and not Forgotten Realms? (I could be wrong on this, but I thought he was specifically Krynn.)
Also, to the comment being quoted. It would make sense for the Beholder Skeleton to not be legendary as there are a number of Death Tyrants in the cosmos scary enough.
No Elminster is one of the OG Realms characters, you're probably thinking of Raistlin.
You're right, hahaha. I get the two mixed up more than I would like to admit hahaha.

lol, for 4 mana per activation I was reading the card sure it was tutoring onto battlefield....
when I saw that it tutors to hand, I immediately dismissed any interest in this card.
Oh shoot, I didn't see the hand part....now I'm not too interested in it hahaha.
I actually called this! When the hints said Legendary Creature - Demon, my mind went right to Orcus and I was wrong in thinking I (and others thought) because technically Orcus is a Devil in MTG (which have a different connotation in D&D instead of how they are in MtG tbh) so the person was convincing me that it probably wasn't Orcus but instead Asmodious...but it was Orcus and I was accidentally right?
Too bad the card isn't one I would use, I love Orcus. Not that I don't like the card, it's more that I'm not currently playing Rakdos hahaha. Like, I like the card, I just don't enjoy Rakdos currently.
These very well might just be my favorite basics ever! I'm kind of sad that they didn't directly reference Icewind Dale (Though I can't remember if Ten-Towns was within that region,) but I'm hyped to see Waterdeep, the Maelstrom, Neverwinter, and Baldur's Gate all referenced!
Yes 10 towns is in Icewind Dale.
I love hate these cards. Love the art and text, hate that once again they forget places outside of the Swordcoast and Chult exist.
Oh cool, I couldn't remember! Then I have no complaints hahaha.
Yeh, I was missing Sword Coast as well, I just played a copious amounts of Icewind Dale back in the day so I'm always hyped for ID references, but it's been a long time so I just forgot every location in the game hahaha. I won't lie, I'm just hyped for Forgotten Realms as MTG cards as a whole.

I like how you can choose which way you go in the dungeon. I'm guessing it's not an automatic trigger/movement during upkeep and/or main phase like with Sagas?
That's actually pretty cool.
And the dragon knight. Would that be like the Draconians from The Dragonlance series if I recall?
'buster
Not too off, these are based on Dragonborn. Dragonlance takes place in the realm of Krynn, which is a separate realm from the Forgotten Realms. Krynn is a wonderful realm, but kind of plays by it's own rules.
Those Evolved Wilds would be roasted hard by our art teachers at school. What's that mostly purple card (without a frame, yuck!) in your hand? a...land? Why not print a Terror using that format but give it a bright green background just for the lulz? On the other hand, the monster cards with stats are a cool tool for DM'ing, and the basics look really nice too, you could easily write an adventure out of those texts...sounds like a nice writing excercise in fact, gotta buy some in Spanish for my students:D
It's meant to look like the old school D&D modules you would buy, so like premade dungeons. I love them as it brings back some fierce old school nostalgia with me.
Orcus is a demon, not a devil (at least the last time I checked)
Also, let’s not ignore the Tarrasque in the room. Do you guys think big-T will be red, green, or Gruul?
ope, yep, you are right. I was getting things backwards. Orcus is definitely a Demon Lord (Page 136 of the Book of Vile Darkness, 3.5 Dungeons and Dragons for sure...though I know I have earlier references on hand.)
I get these to switched sometimes hahahaha, you'd think how much I use Orcus as a player motivation (especially in his Tenebrous form) I would remember this "minor" detail hahaha
"a legendary creature that makes a legendary Hamster creature token" Minsc and Boo
"a card that creates a legendary creature token named Vecna" Hand and Eye of Vecna or some combination.
"Legendary Creature – Devil God" We have already seen Tiamat. So its a safe bet that its Asmodeus
"Legendary Creature – Beholder" Most likely Xanathar
The Devil God could also be Orcus though! IDK, I just think of Orcus first even though Asmodeus is more powerful.
I have to admit I am completely unaware of what this cartoon is.
For a moment, I had hoped the art would be from Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal.
Anyway, yeah, Bloom Tender. Clearly the top notch card in this set. I think I've got only one in total - and defs not a foil.
The first six are directly from the old Dungeons and Dragons cartoon. If you have never watched it, it is a fun show. Basically 5 kids get transported to the original Dungeon and Dragons campaign world (It's called like Mysteria or something like that) and given magic items that simulate classes basically and determine which class they are. The run into a butt of a DM that follows them everywhere (the balding dude in red robes) and run into Tiamat in session one hahaha.
But yeh, it was a fun show for sure...and kinda dark in the end.

Can you explain this? I don't get what is "woke" about any of this.
