if this is a real card it breaks moorland haunt into pieces. it may take a good deal of mana investment to haunt, hell, then cast but its an indefinite cycle barring ghost quarter or rfg. the real question is wether running so many colorless lands would mess with even a 2 color base like humans, delver or blade/pike.
unfortunately, i don't think its real. sacing a dork to get back your fallen moster feels like atleast a rare and having the dork not be "non-token" seems even better. this should be a rare and maybe legendary. it doen't QUITE feel mythic but that is still saying alot since its only shown as an uncommon.
can anyone point out how thalia is significanty better than grand abolisher? thalia's first strike allows he to attack more often but its just as easy to kill on you opponent's turn barring one more land. draining an opponent's mana on their turn is thalia's advantage BUT aboisher just says no to so many things on you opponents turn, not just counters and removal. THAT along the fact that thalia still allows your stuff to be counterd (not to meantion your non-creature spells cost 1 more too) seems to make thaia lose in a fight with abolisher.
and for those ppl who say storm will hate thalia, why would they hate her anymore than ethersword cannonist?
what a load of crap. nacatl is a 3/3 for G that needs a little work to even be a 3/3. punnishing fires was a pervasive card that invalidated opposing aggro strategies and made magic unfun.
it discourages me to think that M&D thinks us mgic players can't handle a vanila 3/3. wtg, wizards, modern is becoming next card up, last card standing. its a joke. there are now atleast 6 (maybe more) cards on the modern bann list that are not degenerate, warping or even dangerous all because of wizard's being paralized with fear. ya know, guys(wizard's) you are going to have to trust us and your game eventually. as for now, that squire is looking pretty menacing and unbeatable. i mean, every deck is playing it. a 1/2 is just so much better than all these other 1/1's running around.
sweet reanimation spell is sweet. maybe i'm jaded by the fact that there havent been ANY reanimation spells in standard for the last few years. i think i've forgotten what a good one should cost. either way, 5 then 4, 5, or 4 seems nice in my book.
with cards like blade splicer, mirran crusader hero of bladehold, the new u/w mythic and the new green 5 cc hero of bladehold, i just can't really get behind this lovely lady
i'm with you, busdude. everytime i see an "aggro" equipment, i look at it, see either the cc or the equip costs 2 and i sigh. "why can't they reprint a bonesplitter type card with 1cc and 1 to equip". i'd even settle for leonin simictar or however its spelt. the only time i've like an aggro equipment was adventuring gear, and even THAT took me a while to come around to.
sorry, i got confused because of what the mod said. its not a hard instant speed discard spell but it IS better than i initially thought. and i do see potential for it to be in 60 card decks.
i stand corrected. the counter is better than i thought. i wish they could have designed the card so that it could cost 2 but i suppose there have been standard playable 3 cc counter. most notably around timespiral block.
i think the thing we all seem to miss is that this is the first "hard" instant speed discard spell ever.(the black shrine was the first soft one)
bad spike counter is bad. mana leak cost 1 less to make them pay 3 and spell pierce only costs 1 mana to force spike them. i don't even considder he discard to even be part of the card because you are paying SO much for an extremely situational and fragile counter that i'd bet actually gets to counter something 40% of the time if that.
also, trepanation blade doesn land lock your opponent. have you ever drawn 2 land i a row, well your opponent can too.
my first thoughts about heartless summoning were that this card could be used to abuse powerful comes into play and/or leaves play abilitities. its too bad pod seems to already have the market cornered. i'm don't see those 2 card working together oo well. it could be used with some sort of expensive creature based combo but it seems like it would take alot of work

the more i think of it, this card is silly.
