An ability on the stack is independent of its source, so once the ability is activated killing the source won't stop it. Think of it like shooting the person who just threw a grenade at you. Either way, you're still going to die!
Fire Servant's replacement effect doesn't affect bolt until it deals it's damage, which unfortunately wouldn't happen until after he had been humbled. Bolt would just do 3 damage.
Your copy of corrupt will deal damage to its target equal to the number of swamps you control. If you have 0 swamps, it will deal 0 damage.
The reason behind this is that the number of swamps is counted upon resolution, so when the copy that you create resolves, it will count the number of swamps "you" (the controller of the copy, aka you) control.
If money weren't in the equation I'd p1p1 fireball over any card in the set.. (excluding 2 or 3 mythics/rares) if you're p1p1-ing pacifism over fireball then you're doing it wrong.
Since you control the triggers, you decide what order they are placed on the stack.
603.3b If multiple abilities have triggered since the last time a player received priority, each player, in APNAP order, puts triggered abilities he or she controls on the stack in any order he or she chooses....
What? P1P1 it's definitely Nighthawk over Machete, at least in ZZZ. I don't see how that's horribly wrong. Nighthawk is just that good in that format. When the only cards you are passing Nighthawk for are like Sorin or Charger, Nighthawk is worth the colour commitment.
P1P1 I take the Mind Control. I used to question Mind Control, but now I am 100% on board. Though I'm not too sure on the P1P1 Fireball vs Mind Control. I think I'm leaning towards Fireball right now, since I am usually a bit more splash happy.
Mind Control is definitely the right pick over Brittle Effigy.

LSV would disagree, and I tend to agree with LSV
Also, Josh Utter-Leyton wrote that he would p1p1 Machete over any other card in the set. Granted, this might be slightly extreme, but you get the idea.

Well, before making a statement like "Mind Control is definitely the right pick over Brittle Effigy" I would appreciate even the slightest bit of reasoning..
Permanently getting rid of an opponent's creature isn't so inferior that it's worth taking the chance of not being able to play either of the removal spells.
This reminds me of the Trusty Machete vs Vampire Nighthawk debate where some people said Nighthawk can win games on its own and is worth the color commitment (and were horribly wrong). Granted, this is a battle of removal, but it's the same principle imho.
P1P1 I would take the Effigy. If it was later in the draft and I knew I was going to draft blue (or I knew it was open) I would probably take the MC, but imo its not enough better to be worth the chance of not playing either card. You cannot splash a MC (in 95% of decks).
Lignify overwrites most characteristic-defining abilities, but not ones that specify color. Here is the ruling from gatherer:
If the enchanted creature has a characteristic-defining ability that specifies its color, that ability will still have its effect because it's applied before the creature loses the ability.
Yep. As a rule of thumb, anything that is in the text box is considered an ability (I'm sure there are exceptions but I can't think of any off the top of my head). It would be a vanilla 0/1.
You already passed priority, and the game cannot back up to before you did so (this is why, if your opponent interrupts the shortcut by adding something to the stack, you can't respond by adding something to the bottom of the stack, only the top). It can back up to where your opponent gets priority, and then if they add something to the stack, they get priority again and they have to pass it to you before anything resolves.
As someone already mentioned, the step/phase doesn't end until each player has passed on an empty stack.
What SeaDuck means is that by saying "End my Turn" or "Move to Combat", you're passing priority for the rest of the steps leading up to the requested shortcut, and when the opponent interrupts this shortcut, you're no longer required to abide by it. You're both right, you just misinterpreted what he said.
Now this is slightly unrelated, but I'd rather save space than make a new thread. If I had Boggart Shenanigans on the field and I use Tarfire, does Boggart Shenanigans' ability activate because of it being a Goblin instant?
No. Whenever a card references a creature type without having "card" immediately after it, it is referring to a permanent of that type. Also, it's not being put into a graveyard from play, anyway.

In the big rules change of 6th edition, they changed the "Tapped blockers deal no combat damage" rule to exactly what cscott said above me.

No merfolk looter?! How am I supposed to draft UW without my Merfolk Looter?!
