I think you should drop all the black, take out lingering and put in midnight for instant. either that or drop red and stick to b/w tokens.
the manabase will make it more solid and reliable.
Rally is one of hte best cards a deck like this can have, if you swing with 2 flyers over the top, play rally, then flash back straight away you do insane damage out of nowhere
I never played with the shocklands and all that, only been playing mtg for around 1.5-2 years, but would like to ask a question (possibly a noob question)
why do you guys want dual lands in m13 and not in RTR etc?
If they are in M13 we only get them for 12months or so, if they're in the next set, we get them for a much longer time.
Quick results from FNM - had some horrible luck with lands
Round 1 - G/W human with swords and pw's
managed to use zealous to steal gideon, also managed to use inferno titan to deal 6 damage for a win as well by playing him, then cloudshift for the win
Round 2 - 3 turn infect
cleaned me up game one, should have gotten rid of his creature with whipflare rather than waiting! game 2, was getting smashed by inkmoth, cloudshift on zealous when he attacked with 2 inkmoth and had them crash which was fun, then attacked for game. game three drew like 5 plains in a row for another loss
Round 3 - RDW
Was very fast, managed to take control of a shrine and popped it, but still managed to loose both games
Round 4 - Another white/blue humany thing
Managed to win both games fairly easy, nothing overly exciting.
Sorry for a avg report, was a while ago now and cant remember it all! great fun deck tho, may be running a few to many lands im not sure at the moment, either that or was just very unlucky drawing 4-6 lands in a row in a couple of games causing me to loose
So... after some testing last night, I had a blast! Great deck, loads of fun to play and like you said, even the hands that look a bit random still play out ok! just got to hope you have around the 3-4 mana in first couple of turns
I've found the artifact/galvanic to be quite helpful, it runs well at teh beginning of the match, and if you get metalcraft later in the match then late game blasts are fine for 4 damage. not sold on the legionnaires yet as only really got it once in early game.
I dropped the main decked timelys, as usual, if you need them, theyre awesome, if you dont, they are bad. so swapped them out to bump galvanic to 4.
A friend was saying to use the new 1 drop white human that gives 3 life as a blocker, but im not sold, might dig them out of the commons box adn try sometime soon. Will be taking the above to FNM tomorrow so will post up my results if I remember them
Cheers for that, I've had a bit of a play with a few cards, bumping land to 25 + 3 spheres. Taken out a few more of the higher CMC guys (lost GHMonk, 1 Titan and 1 Conscripts) and put in 2 Legionnaire.
After a good shuffle and a few test hands its looking a lot more solid, more land and more options in first 4 turns. Finally going to do some play tests tonight so will report back on changes tomorrow
how are you guys finding the mana base? I notice a lot of people are putting in colourless lands and staying at the 24 mark?
I finally managed to put together something similar last night, and all the practice hands were a bit scary. I think Im going to have to try something with a bit more of a curve or some lower level costing dudes.
Im thinking of running a small chance of metal craft and using galv blast alongside my wipflares. With sphere of the suns, golems, solemn its not bad, but i also think an early creature like porcelain legionaire might help out a bit
some of the other lower level cards i've grabbed out of the folder for testing are: elite inquisitor, shrine of loyal legions, masters call (metal craft or could go for midnights/townsfolk etc), loyal cathar, infernal plunge (from first page), doomed trav, and bumping timelys to 4...

Quick question, what happens if you steal a creature that is equipt with an aura or sword etc?
another card worth looking at for the sunbath angel spot is Geist-Honored Monk, could possibly cause some issues. Im also thinking of running a 1-2 of Angel of Jubilation until I can stock up on some of these other brutal cards (titans etc)
if you want a fun red/blue deck, using delver and some cool spells chuck in charmbreaker devils, a bunch of flashback etc and have a good time. i've got one as a casual build and there are some goodies for it in AVR

its definatly a fun deck to mess around with, i basically built it as a way to play forge devil (fav card in last set bwahaha)
with AVR im planning on buffing it up with thunderous wrath x4 and desolate lighthouse for even more fun
This is awesome, I knew frites would stay around and evolve. Zombie infestation looks like it could be very fun in the deck, plus provides blockers.
I still think I would miss mulch, but I guess getting the fatties out is the whole point. Perhaps Flayer could find his way into the deck, undying is awesome, esp when it provides damage as well.
Sheoldred as well may prove better than the Dross, although flying lifelink is aweosme, perhaps grislebrand as well then?
IMO a lot of the cards discused so far are pretty random and should not be in these lists. Jason is on the money with his ideas above. You want consistancy, cards that do things in multiple situations where possible, give reach for the humans/tokens and since its red some burn.

midnight haunting - gives flying tokens, great with IV, instant for combat tricks
rally the peasents - one of the best cards avaialble due to flashback and massive pump
brimstone - another instant, can be used to get rid of pesky 3-5 cost creatures or burn
revolt - possibly only good if you're running IV, otherwise 3 damage on possibly blocked guys?
lightning man - could be good, esp with hero, have to test, but 4x is probably not a good idea
some of the new cards might be good, but possibly only 2-4 of them in the md, pillar is great, 2 MD might be useful if you have the space, otherwise brimstone can be much more useful. being instant is a huge boost.
frites is awesome, its great fun to play and can smash people out of nowhere,just a bit of a pain there are so many cards that seem to wreck it now a days i had a 4 colour cheap frites deck before AVR. would love to sleeve it back up.
Green is needed for your mulch, birds, pilgms etc
I loved flayer of the hatebound (does damage and has undying) as a target, theres also now a white only spell (without flashback) for reanimation.
theres a new red card for dumping your hand and getting 7 more cards, that could be a good 1-2 of in the deck as well

Would be fun running an angles deck tho, perhaps a few more defy deaths and a few more 2-3 cost humans for early game, or even townsfolk for tokens?

faithless looting is also a bit of a random one for you, it only works with phoenix
