why is Grave Titan a bad call? ten power for six mana's still decent. not saying Wurmcoil's a slouch, but I definitely think Grave Titan gets there, even with GFTT in the format.
It's perfectly fine for this deck. I think people are worried about it getting "swept" via DoJ, but in all honesty, you should already know exactly what's in their hand before you cast it. After all, we're running a mix of IoK, Duress, Despise, Probe etc. Only bad people blindly cast win conditions...
Without landfall triggers, or enemy colors, or the need to shuffle on demand, I can't see why you're running fetches.
-4 spreading seas +4 surgical extraction Valakut just isn't enough of a threat to justify running mainboard hate that does nothing else. Surgical extraction shuts down any deck relies on a specific card. There is a lot of them.
Spreading Seas is an auto-include with the new UB control. It doesn't just hate against Valakut (see SplinterTwin, manlands, tech edges, etc etc), plus it replaces itself so it's not a dead card.
Granted I never owned JTMS/SFM but had played against it, I am trying my own idea. I think more control besides fatesealing and bouncing will come back to the decks. Like arrest/forced worship, make their creatures just sit there. Mainly gonna try counters and bounces, and get my Venser(trying to score another) to pop Splicers on and off the field to generate Golems.
Forgive me for tooting my horn, first time I have felt this good on a deck/scheme.
Deck looks titshorrible.
On another note, I feel that the venser based deck will become very good with a few tweaks. Wall of omens, clasp, the elk dude etc etc.

Trolling infraction
UB control without the cornerstone center piece JTMS?!? I would love it, but sadly I don't think it's likely.
Might want to notice the Jaces, Preordains and mana leaks
