Seems every MTG judge is going to be getting at least one set of these lands... What does that mean for the value of these? Would very much like to get a set, but if price is low enough, I wouldn't mind getting a number of sets!
See, there wasn't even any indication that the Explore (plane) stage had multiple scenarios. I swear sometimes WOTC seems to release digital products that doesn't seem to have any UAT behind them.
I'm having the same problem. It's so annoying - WOTC simply cannot get their digital act together, despite this being the third iteration. The menus in DOTP 2015 are particularly unusable, and the way the options scroll is extremely imprecise too. Sometimes I don't understand how DOTP was attributed as the "gateway drug" to more cardboard MTG players when it's so difficult to enjoy.
I'm just glad that they are having a second go-around for slivers, because honestly the M14 slivers were pretty meh. I think having a new Sliver lord should help mitigate that by quite a bit.
The Garruk oversized Planeswalker card seems kind of pointless - does this mean the player that's playing with the Garruk card won't be playing with his or her M15 pool at all? Where's the fun in that?
I opened my box over two nights drafting with friends (2 x 4 man draft so it wasn't exactly a "proper" draft). The experience was fun!
I had one of those boxes with three mythics... ALL 3 were Dragons
But the rest of the box wasn't too bad:
Foil Vendilion Clique
Foil Knight of the Reliquary
Foil Path to Exile
Foil Electrolyze
Cryptic Command
Pact of Negation
Kitchen Finks x 2
Path to Exile
The Cryptic Command and foil Clique were in the same pack!
Given that I paid about 250 USD for the box I don't think I broke even but at least got two drafts out of it. On a related note, I watched a bunch of people crack packs at my LGS last night and it was one of the most disturbing experiences I've had of late. They were so intent on opening money cards that they just kept buying more and more boxes - saw 8 or so boxes opened and only one Tarmogyf showed up all night. Talk about Gambler's Ruin...
I think Illness in the Ranks will ensure that tokens will never see successive wins at tourneys. It also means if the hoser becomes popular we will not be able to establish much of a board presence until an anthem comes online or if we remove the enchantment. Bad news all round...
Played in a GPT this weekend and got absolutely killed by the mass of BR Zombie decks with Aristocrat and Thundermaws... Don't really have a plan against them other than Rest in Peace in the sideboard and hope for nut draws... With this resurgence it seems hard to have junk tokens as tier 1 for now. It does handle most other decks pretty well though, even GW Aggro is ok.
Did pretty well for Games Day but got decimated in a GPT today, with control amdJund running rampant plus a surge of Seance combo decks. That Seance deck is mean - its really insane to lose to an opponent via THEIR library death.... Typing this on my iPad so no deck list for the time being. Despite the poor showing today I've really enjoyed piloting this deck so far!
I played Golgari and Rakdos in two flights - did terribly in Golgari but man, Unleash is A LOT better than I thought it would be. I also vote for Splatter Thug / Deviant Glee / Stab Wound. Stab Wound is particularly good in a limited environment where there are quite a few creature with big backsides.
