Going for kind of a rakdos control build. It's just an idea so far and it needs a lot of help.
I'm definetely running way too many creatures and I lack draw power.
Any thoughts? (Rakdos gate is a budget sub for blood crypt so don't suggest that.)
If I ran 2 colors keyrunes would be insane, but I'm just trying to stick with mono-black right now unless someone can give me a reason not to.
-2 Undying Evil
-1 Glaring Spotlight
-1 Victim of Night
+3 Kitesailed
+1 Moonsilver Spear
Something like that maybe?
One thing I'm really worried about is that this deck has a crippling weakness to stuff like Detention Sphere and I'm not sure how to fix that, thoughts anyone?
I want it to be a control deck really.
The original variant was much better at doing that so now I'm totally regretting this change to a more ramp kind of deck.
It looked like this:
Just a very basic idea right now. The game plan is get out phylactery lich and swing for big damage with inquisitor's flail.
Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks.
How important is Crypt Ghast to you in the deck? It's the kind of card that needs a deck built around him to abuse him fully. What sort of budget do you have for the deck? And I have to disagree with StormT. Bloodgift Demon really wouldn't be much of a help in the build atm. As it stands, if you swapped him for the Crypt Ghast that would put half of your creatures at cmc 5 or more. You'd never survive long enough to be able to play either of them.
The deck was originally based off of this. My budget is kind of flexible right now as I just want ideas. Things like Liliana of the Veil, Griselbrand and anything over $10 per copy of the card is out of the question.
Went 0-3 with a similar build at my last FNM, so any help is appreciated.
Ramp with Crypt Ghast into Lord of the Void (budget griselbrand unfortunately -.-).
So far my Crypt Ghast has been removed way too easily, is it worth it run disentombs?
Maybe add some more ramp (Farseek) or some more stall (Fog)?
Never heard of this card until now. Cool concept and very original.
Also dual/shock lands would be great to add (albeit maybe out of your budget). Hinterland Harbor and Breeding Pool in particular.
i would definitly at least sideboard some gruul charms. also consider replacing spears with ground assults, gives youmore of a reach to creatures like thragtusk and restoration angel
Without stomping grounds I feel like ground assault would be dead way too much. I might side some though.
