I'm probably in the minority here for this, but I'd like to see at least one of those Kamigawa flip cards get some justice complete with two frames of artwork.
Enrage is going to beautifully with my 3 differentStuffy Doll decks. I'll be able to redirect damage (or deal it myself) to the dinosaurs with enrage. Also, the damage redirecting En-kor will play nicely w/ enrage.
That reminds me. All of the hilarity from a non-donate centered Sorrow's Path deck filled with en-kor, mogg maniacs, tamanoa, rite of passage, etc. could really benefit from all of the enrage triggers.
Well, it's not strictly worse than Wild Nacatl. You could play this in a mono-green deck and have 2 (or even 3) 2/2's on the 2nd turn. And this is assuming that there are no other mono-green merfolk in this set.
I think I'm just slightly irked by the fact how we currently have a choice between 10 enemy colored commanders with partner and only 5 allied colored commanders with partner. If this is likely to be more of a one-time thing, I'm hoping that 5 new allied colored commanders with partner would come out in the near future for the sake of more flexibility for partnered commander decks.
I'm guessing that we're also excluding any of the non-black phyrexian cards from Scars of Mirrodin block too right? Most of those cards could just may as well be black cards too.
Why do people act as though the Durdle Turtle says "must attack each turn if able"?
Well, an earthbound 5/9 wall for 5 mana isn't the greatest thing either :/
I can totally see this being one of those special cards that particular people would want to collect hundreds of though. I can't wait to see someone's durdle turtle binder.
I sort of noticed something a bit different too although the smell wasn't the first thing I thought of. I feel that there's definitely less of a glossy sheen, but the cards are smoother in texture.
*gasp* Pharika's cure?? In a vampire deck, it's all about Sorin's Thirst! As for other good cards to think about, I've been a fan of Gatekeeper of Malakir and Kalastria Highborn. The former is probably more effective as creature removal compared with some of your other spells in the deck while the latter also builds upon the "drain" theme.
I think the reason that Bolas & Ugin have a similar shape and design is to underline the idea that they are equals.
If Ugin showed up as some fat Smaug-like dragon people might assume that he was either more powerful or less smart than Bolas.
If the designs are mirrored it shows that they are equals/ opposites.
This is pretty much what I was thinking as well. I may also go off on a limb and say that while they don't look exactly alike, they still look close enough to make me believe that there may even be a story connection between the two.
I must say that I'm really happy to see Sarkhan sane again now that Ugin's tomb has given him new direction or something. He was a pretty cool guy before Bolas. I also love to see more BW Sorin.
And here are a couple of my guesses as to what each clan's real world influences come from. I'd also love to hear corrections for a few that I'm a bit unsure about.
Abzan: no idea. Maybe some sort of middle eastern?
Jeskai: Shaolin
Sultai: More than one person here said Thai, and since I'm personally not too familiar with that theme, I'll be inclined to agree here
Mardu: Mongolian
Temur: With all the snow, I want to say maybe Siberian?
Okay, so I have a playset of Windswept Heaths, and I know it'd be a good idea to sell them asap, but I'm just too lazy for that and am just rather overwhelmingly overjoyed that I can finally get the others for a good price :D.

Also, I do kind of wish that the dwarf was another small angel instead, but I'd still get my playset
