The card I have been targeting is nighthowler. I was finding them everywhere in 4 for a dollar bins. and with delve returning, I could see it making some gains in a graveyard based deck.
Nighthowler wants cards in the graveyard, and delve removes cards from the graveyard. How is there any synergy between them?
The return of delve brings cards with it that put cards in the graveyard that directly help nighthowler. Cards that have delve wont help him, but the cards that assist delve will.
I think he is referring to the card in Theros that fits the Nightveil Specter profile - gets a lot better on rotation, and is poised to move from near-bulk to Standard staple (and the associated price bump associated).
Ah, gotcha. been a long day and I was sitting here confused lol. Anyways, I did make a killing off nightveil's. It was my main spec target and had about 40-50 of them when they jumped to 10 bucks. dumped them all. I would say the only card that would get an immediate bump was courser, and at 10 bucks (well it was for a short minute) thats a heck of jump.

I can't seem to find Theros' Nightveil Specter tough, it had been easy lately but KTK's mechanics don't seem to play specially nice with anything in Theros that isn't already >$5.
People keep posting Khans - Warlords - Dragons. I think we are going to see a Khans - Dragons - Warlords with the block setup close to that of Shards setup (Overcoming something evil).
I'm not sure where the hate for the recent movies come from. I feel the ASM series is many levels above the original trilogy. The cast is better, the plot is better, the storyline is better. I dont get the hate for the quieter moments or fight scenes. What do people want? Some people ***** that there are too many explosions, non-stop action, no storyline (Michael Bay) and others ***** that there is too much story. I felt this movie had a really good balance of them. Garfield makes a much better Spiderman and I feel this series is worlds better.
I'm confused about the shaman. The exiled cards that you can play.. do you have to pay mana for them? Is this just Chandra's 0 ability except you have to get a 1/3 into the red zone and you get 2 cards instead of one? Is this really that good?
Yes, it's like Chandra's 0. Yes, it's really that good. In a deck with a low curve you'll often be able to play both cards.
In a deck that has a low curve you are generally trying to be aggro and casting things on your second main phase isnt really ideal on turn 4. Thats the best case scenario. I know of many decks that will look at him and not really care.
On the other hand, since the release of RTR & sister expansions, Foundry and Stomping grounds has always been a couple of bucks more expensive than the other shocklands. Has it ever been not?
Foundry has always been one of, if not, the cheapest shockland to buy/trade. Only with the recent trend of R/W decks has it come up to the other shocklands levels.
How about we stop supporting the kid who clearly did this as an insult to those players. There were 4301 people at Richmond and you are telling me he got a handful of ass crack pictures? Welcome to the general populace.
This kid will get his punishment and has been looked down upon by Pros and Wizards alike so lets just do a better job of bring attention to the people instead of insulting them in front of the internet.
I made a trade at SCG St. Louis and my friends are criticizing the pile I took but I think I got the better end. Help decide?
What I received:
SP Misty Rainforest
NM Snapcaster Mage
What I gave:
SP Taiga
As much as I like duals, I think you made the right choice. It was a given that snap caster was going up since the ban of DRS, and Taiga mint is 50-60 dollars or so, you made the right choice, and especially if you needed them.
Exactly my thought process. I just recently got back into magic so its a good pick up imo.
Sorry for the random question, where do you think Pyromancer Ascension and it's pyromancer ascensionFoil version will end up? Decrease rapidly or increase even more? Seems like prime reprint target.
That's a great question. I just recently picked up a playset of foil Pyromancer's Ascensions since I saw it was only at 3-4 dollars value and figured that it was a "Breakable" card. Personally I am waiting until SCG decides to put "more in stock" which will update their prices. Honestly they kind of set the secondary prices on items and I'm betting they settle at 30 dollars. I believe for the time being, barring any major showings on MTGO, that the 20-30 price range on the foil and 10-15 on the regular will be a settling point until a reprint or a huge showing again. I've been having an eternal debate on moving them personally or holding.
I would rather have Snap/Fetch than one of the most underplayed/useless? dual lands.
Yeah, my argument was that I am most definitely a blue player and this allows me to have two staples in my preferred color for multiple formats rather than a dual I may never use.
lol the prices are getting kinda ridiculous...looking at SCG I feel like everything playable has doubled in price (and everything is "out of stock"...yeah right)....Damnation 50bucks? the rewards one 60? really? Urborg is suddenly for 30? and there are many many more......... I can go to my LGS right now and buy all these cards for half of this new price, but I am not even sure I should do this...
Prices are rising rapidly because the game itself is growing rapidly. Wizards just posted another quarterly 20% increase in sales which keeps rising exponentially. When they continue to post those kind of numbers, its absolutely an absurd rise in players. That means there are that many more players trying to get there hands on cards that are just 2-3 years old but are becoming hard to obtain (ie. Snaps, Lilianas, etc.). Thats why we are seeing cards like Pyromancer Ascensions rise rapidly. As soon as it shows up there are even more people than ever trying to get them which forces the demand to go up when the supply is staying pretty flat. Staples are going to continue to rise until we can start printing higher numbers of staples.
We could have gotten these Event Decks, perhaps a year ago on hindsight.
It takes 1-2 years to release anything, even supplementary products. I'm sure they've been working on this since they decided to do Modern Masters.
Neonordnance has it right. Also, you can not just immediately flood the market with everything everyone wants otherwise it ruins part of the appeal of the game of Magic. They have done a good job of releasing more and more product that appeals to all forms but it never solves the lust of more product that customers want.
They have done a good job of releasing modern product, they just need to get that banlist worked out and I think they will have a solid long term eternal format.
Hey SCG, any chance you guys would be interested in a GP Lincoln 2012 playmat? I have too many to pick from now and looking to move a few. Let me know. Its in good shape.
