is saheeli rai not a card that could be played in this deck? I would think that making a copy of the gearhulk with it's ETB effect worthwhile, or are there just not enough creatures/artifacts?
So Chandra could easily be Bristling Hydra or Collective Defiance, and in some cases will be sided out for them, but I preferred the ability to cycle through your library or deal damage combined with removal. Also, I went with Natural State over Appetite for the Unnatural because of the lower curve. So what do you guys think?
Whenever I am looking for another four drop option and I am running four doublestriking man lands,
I always think about how good odric, lunarch marshal would be in that situation, not to mention the flying and trample everywhere.
weirdly worded. choose ten, exile two, shuffle deck. opponent picks one of the two exiled, put the REST on your field. the rest of the ten? the two? what do I do with the other eight cards?
People who are playing G/W what cards are you losing after rotation and what are you going to replace them with?
From my end the first thing I'm losing is Dromoka’s Command. At the moment it seems the logical card to replace it with is Collective Effort unless you guys have an alternative options?
Then it’s a matter of 1 drops. Right now I run 2 Kytheon, Hero of Akros, 4 of each Dragon Hunter and Honored Hierarch and lastly 2 Thraben Inspector. Now I’m obviously losing all of them other than the Inspector. So I will bump him up to a full playset to replace Kytheon. Then I’ll run Expedition Envoy as a weaker Dragon Hunter but I have no idea what to put in as my last 1 drop. Hopefully we’ll get something from Kaladesh that is playable but if we don’t what would you add?
I'm guessing that you mean in green, but if in white . . . I think that town gossipmonger is stupid good.
yeah, the room is the problem there. what makes the package idea so cool is that you could run singletons of the less necessary but still oseful cards and 2x's of the essentials. needles are wonderful, another cute trick is sigil of distiction as an all purpose tutorable equipment that can deliver decent beats, just nowhere near a sword's potential in super-powers.
just a thought about your dilemma with the CIPT lands: amulet of vigor plus trinket mage. perhaqps if you ran three of each you could find a couple other 1-cost artifacts that would be useful to have tutored to your hand at will to run with them . . ?
well first off i would suggest you might like to run filigree fracture for the enchantment busting and for your opponents stuff too. drawing four off it could be fun as . . .
i've gotta think that there has to be room for death baron in this deck in at least some capacity. the combo with deathbringer thoctar is just too obvious isn't it? deathtouching TIM that reloads himself = boardwipe
I've been testing it on Magic Workstation, and despite having little to no focus in its strategy, it somehow manages to work. I'm hoping to refine it and turn it into something a bit better. I know an idea like this might not be very competitive, but it is VERY fun.
what? no kederekt creeper? EG. i've been thinking of a similar deck with runes of the deus maybe a couple of other fun enchantments from those blocks, while also running glamerdye and enough land to make adding four knight of the reliquary both a necessity and worthwhile . it would definitely be fun and could possibly be competive if consistency and protection could be ensured, not sure how you would do that though. other options include various alara-blades and/or grixis zombies with five color treats.
i've been running this build a while. guess it would qualify as budget with no figure of destiny in a predominantly kithkin deck. used to run the daru warchief when scourge was still extended.
with the new soldier's in innistrad i can see room for improvements to the deck. but there are great synergies that could be exploited in modern. borderguard+graceful reprieve is very fun: get plus-ones, die and make tokens, return from the grave and make virtually double the plus-ones which net double the tokens when it dies again,
low to the ground. have you given any thought to reckless bushwhacker?
