lol I never understood the gripe about the random shuffler. It is, indeed, random. One of the best features - Instant shuffling!
No but seriously... having something that forces you to play by the rules is a bigger benefit than you might think. My wife and I learned so much in our little group that we stopped many arguments before they started haha.

I'm thinking of erasing MWS on my laptop and making a video tutorial of installing it. Hopefully some errors will crop up, and I can explain what to do in those cases (probably sending it in to HP to get it replaced as there are a number of problems with it already, and all my stuff is backed up on my desktop PC). Does this sound like something those of you having these problems would be interested in?
That'd probably be cool. It would definitely be comprehensive for at least the people using the same operating system.

Okay, in the spirit of "Future users getting the help they need!", I'm going to post some stuff I finally did right.
Getting the error "Current grid must be MASTER-like type" when trying to add the txt spoiler in Analyze/Add/Remove Sets - Make sure you close and reopen MWS to reset the grid.
And then, subsequently getting "must be part of a compiled set" or something similar when trying to add cards to a deck from the new set you just added - Whenever this question got answered before it was stated that you must "save deck/library" or "save deck/base" when what they really mean to say is "EXPORT Deck/Base". I'm not one to get tied up in semantics usually, but this wasn't even semantics. There are options to save and options to export, and the exporting is what you need to do after you add a new set from text spoiler.
Then, make sure you set the exported new_masterbase as your default masterbase.
It might have been just me having trouble with that, but it would have saved me a lot of time if the correct terms were used.
So a recap:
Tools - analyze/add/remove sets - Add new edition
Put in information (Worldwake and WWK)
Get data from txt spoiler
Once cards are imported in library - File - Export deck/base
File - assign default materbase - and select your newly exported base
restart mws
Again, many people may laugh at how dumb this seems, but it may help someone.

Well, thanks for the civility of your replies, guys. I do appreciate that. I was fairly afraid I was going to get a backlash of forum elitism. Never had that happen to me personally, but I've seen it , and it gets ugly.
Anyway, the main reason why I posted my problems in this thread was because it was regarding implementing/installing this particular patch. The problem I'm having also turns up whenever I create cards, so I thought maybe someone could give me a one-shot as to why it happens. I will redirect my concerns to the help thread. Either that or I guess I'll just wait for the official masterbase update or whatever. Thanks again and sorry for taking up thread real-estate.

Okay I've done some searching on the forums and the MWS thread as well. I've searched google and every time someone asks how to do something on anything they just get complaints about it being in the wrong forum (which I understand why that's important) or, like the post above, they get a reply saying "use search". The search hasn't helped me figure out why when I add WWK to my MWS I can't use those cards in a deck. The question gets asked but never answered. If I've missed it, I'm sorry, but I have looked. I don't really have all day to look.
So could someone refer me a link or use the search and prove me wrong and make me look dumb (I know that's important)? I really don't give a @^% but I'd really just like to know how to do it, even if I get labeled a nub (*gasp*).
Also, not all this animosity is in reference to the members of this forum.

I'm fairly new to the MWS scene, but I've been enjoying it muchly over the past few days.
I have to say, I'm finding it sort of frustrating trying to figure this out on my own (I feel dumb), but can someone show me how to implement this patch so I can use it? I've tried using the text file in add/remove editions and such, which seems to work fine, but it wants it to be 'compiled' or something when I go to add cards to a deck.
You, stop spamming your articles that don't tell us anything we don't already know. Put a link in your sig, and leave it at that.

Wow, that was mean. I thought it was an interesting peice... and it's not like he didn't contribute any more to the discussion than anyone else did. Most people just say whether or not they like it.
Anyway, maybe I'm overstepping my bounds a bit.
I like this card.

I call myself 'amanatee', and the reason for which may remain undisclosed for some time!
Just kidding, I used to do a funny 'manatee' voice.
Anyway, I'm a fan of MTG, of course, and I've been reading articles and card spoilers on this site since the beginning of the year. I figured it was time to drop the ball and join in.
So, hello everyone!
