Now, on my upkeep I get a Passifism token, but where does it go? Do I get to put it on any creature I like ala retether or is my situation even possible?

Me and someone I know are haveing an arguement on when the rule was instituted that caused the 2 counters (+1/+1 and -1/-1) to negate and remove each other.

I got a question as to what happens with clone and an animated land such as mutavault
I know that if you play the clone on the mutavault that you get an unanimated mutavualt, but as the clone is still 0/0 would it end up dieing beacuse it still has those printed values? Or would it lose the creature type all together when it copys the land?

Is there a time after defenders are declared for instants (or anything that can be played/activated as an instant) to be played, before the damage is assigned?

Ok, then what if I manage to turn pacifism into a creature using some masive combo of mycosynth lattice and march of the machines, manage to make a token of said aura with followed footsteps
So I have opalescence out and Passifism
Enchanted with Followed footsteps (due to opalescence's way of making the enchants creatures)
Now, on my upkeep I get a Passifism token, but where does it go? Do I get to put it on any creature I like ala retether or is my situation even possible?
I cant remember if it is a triggerd ability or a static ability.
