Yeah. I'm thirding tappedout. I use the play test feature a bunch before I buy decks irl. The stats are good enough for a basic info on converted costs and mana base stuff. editing could be more streamlined, but it does the job.
I'd run plenty of draw, it sucks to choose between the spellshaper effect and discarding a key spell. Also, there are diminishing returns on having too many Spellshapers in a deck, as they all compete for hand and mana resources.
I'd read it! I would love some stats and percentages to bring up at my semi-competitive playgroup. We do partial mulligan, and I'm getting wary of how often those 1cc rocks pop out.
Don't forget that it's a lot easier to play the 1cc spells and activate Mayael. 7 vs 9 mana is signifigant. I've had a Mayael edh deck since Shards, and the cheaper the removal, the better. Chaos warp and the 2 1cc are what I run from the group.
A white Mana Leak or Remand (I was surprised when Maro said a white Remand was possible. Now, I want to see it!)
That quote sums up my feelings. I feel like black could use some more wraths, Damnation being the only one thats very cost effective. Maybe as simple as a black Day of Judgement.
Faith Healer can save your most important enchantments from exile and Tuck, while giving you the option for some life gain. Works great with Replenish and Retether.
This was a fun thing to consider. I think it largely depends on the commander and what my opponents are running. There is a value in the <4cc generals, as they can usually eat removal and be recast easily, whereas the >6cc generals are usually more dangerous, but more likely to eat a counterspell. Here are mine:
Kemba - Early, especially if I have equipment / removal light environment.
Mayael - early and often, given the ramp/fatty strategy, expected to eat early removal.
Tariel - Post board wipe. Requires flash or haste
Jeleva - any time I have haste and the mana
Horde of Notions - if there is an opening for an attack, removal light enviornment, or I have double rainbow and a relevent elemental in the yard.
Uril - early as possible, if I have at least one aura in the hand (sometimes even without that)
Thada Adel, Aquisitor- Early as possible if opponents have islands/no blockers
Teysa, Orzhov Scion - usually after I've developed some sort of token presence.
Zedruu - varies wildly. Usually i wait till I have RRUUWWC availiable and a donate-able permanent, or flash. Trickiest general to time.
Maelstrom wanderer - asap, over and over again.
Oloro - Mid to very late game, usually with flash, and if I have a few ways to exploit him. Often doesn't get cast.
Marath/Ghave - If I have some left over mana to utilise their abilities.
Damia, Sage of Stone - usually eot before my turn with flash
Aurelia - preferably with a sword of x/y or some other creatures on the board, to maximise the 2x attacks.
Nin, the pain artist - turn 2, almost always
The most important factor are the capabilities of the opponents decks, I'll play it safe if I suspect tuck or a counter, espesially for the high costed generals. cardtagging is a hassle in my phone, sorry.
All the tutoring and shuffling in those first few turns would really slow things up. I think the mulligan rules, as they are now, encourage tighter deck building.
Yeah, I hope it gets back up soon. I kinda had all my eggs in one basket, as far as speculative deck-lists go. Anybody know an equivalent website? I got a lot of mileage out of testing 2 decks in 2 separate browser windows.
Cockatrice is brilliant for deck testing.
Yeah, I gave cockatrice and mtg workstation a go a few years back. I found the website flash interface more convenient for my needs than downloading a program.

I love the fog one in Damia, dawn something.

These are pretty on theme as well: Cantivore, enduring ideal is pretty epic, opalescence, Sphere of Safety (almost an auto include). Celestial ancient too
