That's what my question is too. I play 2 copies in a Modern B/G Death Cloud build or basically B/G in general, but the deck isn't exactly meta warping. It still is the best black sweeper for EDH although Toxic Deluge is no nonsense as well.
I would argue Plague Wind, Decree of Pain and Overwhelming Forces are better unless you really,v really need to kill something turn 4. I also don't think that EDH is a large driver for Damnation.
The stupid part about this product is that most people who want this and are willing to buy it can't because of the limited supply so we're going to have to fight one another on eBay to get one.
They have already done a ton of this with little effect since the banks ate hoarding reserves. It may be that inflation never happens from this since the money isn't circulating. Also you should realize that Magic is seemingly recession proof.
Just preorder 10 of them at 45$ each, dont know if it was the right move of now.
Will keep 4 intact, try to open 4 for my deck and seels the land i dont need. and try to sells 4 at 90$ each
This is why they need to increase the MSRP a ton so shops make the profit on it, not some guy who's lucky enough to have a decent store owner.
The individual card prices should stabilize within a few months. The sealed ones will probably never go down, they'll only go up over time. My only advice would be to look out for auctions (instead of B.I.N.'s is probably your only option. You might eventually get lucky.
I wouldn't expect to pay anything less than $100 for a sealed one of these, personally, and that will go up over time.
You would almost certainly pay less than that getting them as singles.
I'd rather pay $75 for good cards than $10 for junk you get in an intro pack. PDS had $60 cards and until Graveborn mostly were utter crap. Commander's Arsenal gives you 18 cards which you actually want (I'm not counting the other filler because I could care less about it) for less than $4 a card. $4 is the cost of a pack which once you open is usually worth next to nothing. People need to stop complaining about these things because if they priced these at $35 like FTV most stores would just jack up the prices to $75 or more anyways so the MSRP doesn't matter.
Sure. Except PDS went for MSRP $34.99. And it was 60 all foil cards, some of which (especially in the case of Graveborn) were highly sought after. Costing more than twice that for sleeves valuing approx. $10 and only 18 playable foil cards? (i.e. not oversized cards). That would be a total ripoff. I don't even care about the life counter. Sure, it's a pimpin' life counter, but PDS came with a spindown D20, and this could hardly be worth more than that as it can't even be used to roll to see who goes first. That's why I think it was a typo.
Yeah a lot of cards in PDS were utter garbage too or basic lands so who cares? At least now we're getting mostly good cards. I could care less about the extras and the stupid oversized cards.
I think that that would stop people getting them at MSRP and then selling them online for triple the price. Wizards should just make the MSRP match up with what the actual price the public pays.
Greed? You are calling that greed?
Let me explain something, I will tell you what greed really is.
It's when players only go to a store to play the game and occasionally buy a single for ebay-prices, because they don't want to pay more.
It's when those same players buy all their boxes on the internet, because they rather spend some less money than keeping the store alive.
Wizards wouldn't be doing this if stores weren't going bankrupt because of the internet-sales.
So the next time before you call someone greedy, think of the stores that had to shut down because you want to save money on a boosterbox so you can have a few more pints.
The stores also tend to jack up the prices on any non-random sealed product with a chase card too (Planechase, Commander). I would love to buy these in stores (and do when I can) if they charged MSRP but they don't. I understand that this is good business practice but it also makes good sense for me to buy stuff at the cheapest price too. Wizards should just make the MSRP on these be $75 so nobody gets too angry that they have to pay that much anyways.

Why would they reprint her less than 2 years after she was in standard? What would they even print her in?

BIN on ebay has already dipped below $100.
