Your turn 3.
You have Goblin Guide and Kiln Fiend untap. They have Wall of Omens in play.
You have Lightning bolt, Searing Blaze, and a land in hand.
You play the land and attack in.
You opponent now has to choose who to block, and you have good choices either way.
They block the Goblin Guide, you Searing Blaze it to death and deal 7 to the face.
They block the Kiln Fiend, you Bolt them, kill the wall and deal 5 to the face.
Um....
or you can just blaze bolt the wall and hit for 7 with the fiend, 3 from the blaze 2 from the guide...
I have played with Kiln fiend alot-I love it because it turns all your burn spells into searing blazes, and it also is not such a bad play at all to use 2 removals on troublesome blockers as long as it's in play.
I have never tried Dragonlord but it doesn't fit my style as a red player-my strategy is balls to the wall all out win and kiln fiend fits that perfectly.
God hands include opponent tapping out for something stupid like bloodghast or something and then turn 3 I throw 3 one-mana burns at the opponents face and swing with a 10/2 fiend.
Ug-I love this type of card, an undercosted fatty beatstick, but he's not so great in an environment with a 4/5 for 3 with no drawbacks exists and a 5/4 for 3 exists and doesn't even see any competitive play.
In standard he sucks because of wall of omens, hierarch and birds
In limited he's not so great either because eldrazi spawns and the huge amount of walls in ROE
in theory kalistra highborn should be awesome and amazing vs sweepers so I wonder why people aren't maindecking 4, perhaps taking out some nighthawks, seeing as you can leave all mana open turn 4-5 to wait to respond to a wrath by paying the cost 5 times and 10 damage right to the opponents face.
You can activate it multiple times for the same creature right?
So in theory that is a great idea but how come it doesn't work in practice?
Yep, it is unbalanced that decks can sideboard in hate cards that specifically shut down an entire color and in response red can't side in anything except a janky 2 card combo of quake and footing to deal with it.
How come black gets white hosers such as Malakir BLoodwitch and green gets blue and black hosers such as Great Sable Stag? How come every color except red has effective color hosers vs their enemy colors except for red in standard?
White gets Kor Firewalker, Celestial Purge and Devout lightcaster as enemy color hosers.
Blue gets stuff like flashfreeze.
What anti white and blue cards does red have in standard?
If you come to the conclusion of zero, how come you believe wizards decided to do this? In the past red would atleast get cards like Blood Knight and Goblin Piledriver
That UR deck is just bad RDW made inconsistent by the blue splash and overly reliant on kiln fiend. I know this because I tried it alot. That said, the best blue card for RDW if you DID splash blue would be Wind Zendikon imo, turn 2 you put in on ur first turn land and you have a 2/2 flying haste. However Wind Zendikon is not worth splashing blue
According to all the articles I read by Mark Rosewater, he wants all colors to be able to answer things. An example is Rosewater wanted the vampire tribe to be competitive so he gave them Gatekeeper of Malakir to deal with GSS
Now Kor Firewalker completely hoses red. If White gets a card that shuts down an entire color, I believe that red should have an answer to that card.
UW planeswalker control is also starting to become widely played

bad matchups vs Jund, RDW and UW, so what exactly are vampires good matchups that should make it competitive?
How is that nazi mod, is that alright with you sir?
Don't push your luck.
