I've noticed this a lot with people trying to purchase cards. I would sell for about 75% of ebay prices and then get asked to go lower and drop shipping costs. Unfortunately, I needed cash then and as a new ebay seller I wouldn't get the money for months. Thus I sold cards at low prices, and felt bad about it.
I mean really how insensitive do you have to be to demand that someone sells cheaper then ebay prices? Obviously if they aren't selling on ebay they need the money now and being ripped off'd just proves their desperation.
So kudos to the topic creator, you rather bend over people to get the deals you want then help a fellow human and magic player out.
Psychatog would be fun, but I don't know if it would in fact see play with how great creatures are right now.
Goblin Tinkerer, man I remember that card so well. "I activate my factory to block your piledriver" "I'll vial in tinkerer, and activate him" "So the factory and the tinkerer trade" "read again by friend"
I could see Mirri's Guile in a Delver style tempo deck or Enchantress style deck, the card is good, but limited in its application so not overtly powerful like Top, it also isn't that hard to remove
I would love to see Veteran Explorer, but would it push Scapeshift over the edge?
How do you think a possible functional reprint of Mirri's Guile would effect the format? It only activates on your upkeep so counterbalance would be place in check. It doesn't draw extra cards so a combo deck wouldn't explode. But in BUG Delver things could get interesting and fun.
And no Legacy should not stop at Scourge, because its an eternal format. Modern is not. Hence Those cards prior to the time frame of Moderns timeline should not be allowed in the format, reguardless of the boarder.
...Modern is an Eternal format, just one undefined by the reserved list. And as I said earlier by picking it to start with the modern frames they cut off 3 important and fun blocks IPA, OTJ, and OLS. The sets where most of the cards people wish to be reprinted are from. When people talk about a Modern predecessor they think of the Invasion forward Extended season which was one of the most enjoyable times to play magic.
And a lot of older players started around that time, because that's when the game became great (Rav is where it went amazing). Please stop acting as if we are trying to destroy the format and allow us to get back to topic of which this thread was created, because obviously this thread was never intended to appeal to you. And you're in fact trolling this thread.
Well, you don't see Necropotence these days, and you don't see Wood Elemental any more. Not only did 8th give us new frames, 8th is where WotC got the design down.
I would argue Invasion was the start of great design. Mask's was terri-bad and then IPA saw fantastic design and besides the wretched Legions, OTJ and OLS where great fun. Saying 8th is where they got "Design Down" is hilariously wrong. You don't see necropotence but you do see skullclamp, Tarmogoyf, dredge, Jace the Mind Sculptor, a T2 manabase that played cryptic command, kitchen finks and cruel ultimatum in the same deck, mirrodin, cascade, and Delver of Secrets. In fact most of the cards I have seen promoted in this thread are from IPA-OLS era and few are actually "broken".
Ugh, a draft only set? I hope this is a joke, I like to crack packs as much as the next dude, but if you're making a set to bolster a constructed format then demand it be drafted first... Stupid decision.
Because they are not from the Modern time frame. I dont understand why so many people want to ruin Modern by allowing older cards into the format. It would totally change the meaning of the format.
The meaning behind modern was an enternal format not restricted by the "no reprint" list. Not "only cards from modern sets", thus older cards could be introduced as reprinting is a fundamental of magic in general.
Reprinting is one of the great things about magic. Suddenly you get an old card that hits you with a bit of nostalgia. Seriously look at any modern list and strip them of any cards printed before 8th, many decks would disappear (Tron).
On the subject of cards to be reprinted:
Onlsaught Cycle Lands, Wishes, Mirri's Guile, Counterspell, Devastating Dreams, a playable wasteland, gush (broken card I know, yet I want to see if the tempo loss would halt it), Entomb and Mother of Runes and Threshold. That mechanic was fun and should be revisited.
6/10 Hellkite is an answer. If played before or the turn after he out races. Even thragtusk should race them. Temblor is a nice counter to GoST. But yeah if you can get the Angel on the defensive she should be dealt with...

Vandal, I've never been behind those mechanics.
On the Efreet, I doubt it have an impact.
I don't think it would be broken, but it'd make control playable. Snap and Cliques would be jumping up and down.
I think the symmetry of explorer would make it acceptable.
Plaguelord is Modern legal already.

I'm offering 2 V Clique's at $54 for both. LMK if you're interested.
I meant it could make every creature in our deck race Sig, and come out on top if she must block.
Runechanter's Pike? Most games we should have 3-4 spells in the yard.
