So...why can't Blue and Black both have a hunger for power? Obviously every color has a hunger for some form of power as it has been stated before. Blue has a hunger for power through the knowledge it strives to gain, and black has a hunger for the power to further selfish needs. If the question has now grown to which color has a bigger hunger for power it would clearly be black because of the selfishness and the other argument I won't bother to restate here.
I just don't understand why they both can't have it which the original statement seems to be pointing at.
I think they salamanders have been attacking since the beginning and all of you are missing it. The card since is like a bigfoot of sorts, the first one to be stupid enough to be caught on camera. Geez your all blind to the huge conspiracy going on.
No in actuality I think they put that card in to freak people out who start to look too deeply in to it. They throw in cards from time to time in case they want to go back to the idea or even sometimes just for fun.
I would love to see this happen however. I don't believe the amphins/merfolk can't attack because of water or anything. I mean look at the original Namor. One pissed off dude who comes from water and hates humans so he comes on land and starts romping all around. The best part of creating things is you decide what you want. Some people can't see it, and that's fine, but the ones who do are going to be the ones who makes it. And if it's made everyone who couldn't see it can very well be enlightened by the enormous possibility.
I think the big reason they have PW's from the plane in those block is because they fit the style of the plane right. So in a flavor sense they don't have to stretch to make the art fit well with the style they are looking for. Obviously they have some that don't, but it's nice to see the planeswalkers that are a part of the story looking like other cards (dress and such) and to know they have serious stake in the catastrophes happening.
Right. Sorry. We can chalk that up as going straight over my head. This also then brings up an interesting question though. Other mages across Innistrad have risen in power due to Avacyn returning, including her magic as well, so wouldn't it be possible for Garruk to find any mage that can do healing magic to heal him on this plane? Since they have risen so drastically in power through the recent events, would it be out of the question to suggest somebody other than Avacyn might be able to cure him? Or is the chain veil curse just too powerful?
I don't know if you can say he is going to find religion to fix the curse. He is going to find the creator of the magic used to ease his suffering in hopes that it can officially rid him of his curse. And as of now nobody knows whether or not he actually found Avacyn.
I was just speaking from personal experience. I would agree it might not fit well. He would have to be extremely powerful in my eyes and then the cards would also have to be extremely powerful. I just generally don't think it would make sense for Wizards to pursue that instead of other character ideas.
I think we are all on the side of, "Let's just let it play out." We obviously can't do much except tell them how we feel, but on a business side they have to do what is best for the business. As I have previously stated I love the storylines; even with the relatively low amount of knowledge we got in this most recent set. For me personally though, I am worried about where this is going. For now I definitely have the wait and see attitude, but a couple of years down the road if the storyline doesn't exist anymore, I won't be playing. That I can guarantee. I like being able to tie the cards to the story and the characters within it. Without that the card game for me falls flat.
Lambholt elder is just a part of the little red riding hood cycle. Lambholt is grandma, scorned villager is little red riding hood, and the huntsmaster of the fells is the hunter. the only reason she is old is to fit the cycle. Also, a more older planeswalker would be interesting because there is a large number of players who have been playing since the beginning and therefore are now older. the thing is the people I personally know who fit that demographic are all huge fans of Sorin because he is very old and wise.
But all this talk keeps the question of why didn't he immediately get her out. He has a millenia of experience, but didn't get her out of the Helvault. I just want some answers concerning what Sorin was doing while he was on Innistrad this time. We can see in some cards that he is hacking and slashing some baddies, but other than that there is nothing. I would say now that my guess is he saw Lilliana and Garruk so then decided to leave it up to them. This is of course speculation and is based off of assuming Sorin knows those two and knows that Lilliana is after Griselbrand who was in the Helvault.
The problem continues though that the other player types will always get what they want as long as the card game continues. Melvin, Timmy, Johnny, and Spike are always going to get cards they want to continue. Vorthose on the other hand, is getting his back turned on him. Not that this is completely true, but that is at least how it feels. No, the books were not good. And no, the short stories and StF don't wrap everything up nicely for us. The fact remains though that it was nice to feel like Wizards was always trying to appeal to us as best they could. Now it feels like we were put in the back seat of the car, told to shut up, and deal.
What I am saying is I don't want them to continue to produce bad novels with the storylines. I want StF to come back (which I know is...eventually) and I just want something more. Something to produce the story as full as they can and appeal to my needs as one of their target demographics/consumers so that I don't continually wonder what is going on in the story they claim is there.
I would agree that Serra is motherly, but she was more motherly to a whole plane instead of to a few specific people. I would think that a motherly character that is motherly to only a few people would be very interesting because that would require her to consistently watch after them. In my eyes that would mean these people would have to planeswalk with her or she wouldn't be able to go very far for long periods of time. Definitely interesting.
That makes sense that he only cares about the vampires. I still think though that if you are as old as Sorin is he probably should be able to come to the conclusion that Avacyn is in the Helvault. Maybe he went about cleaning everything up in a different way without Avacyn but I definitely believe he would be able to figure it out before Lilli.
No that is what I'm saying and I think Elspeth is a great example right there. When they are writing the storyline I believe they come to the conclusion of which gender as a result of what character they are making that suits the story better at the time.

But exactly what I found interesting would be someone who has the ability to leave, yet doesn't because of a motherly personality.
