I guess in your meta control and board sweeps aren't common?
I don't know of many EDH decks that don't pack a lot of one of those things, oftentimes both.
Not exactly seeing how "Kemba is an amazing general" fits with losing to sweepers and control.
In my (admittedly somewhat limited) experience of playing against Kemba, she does a grand total of absolutely nothing save getting killed the moment she looks vaguely threatening (which isn't often) unless she gets both Hexproof and Indestructible from equipment.
Then she gets to stick around and get chump blocked all game long.
But hey, 2/2 tokens are nothing to scoff at in EDH, right?
I mean mono blue hate everything control by this. Which there isnt to much in my meta. Those are some of the hardest matches for my deck to win.
The main control in my deck is cromat and ashling burn. Which aren't to bad until they wipe all the artifacts and equips off the board.
Kemba dies to late game sweepers more than early to mid game. Any of them are hard to bounce back from but you still can. I should have explained this a bit more than i did i guess
1)quick games. If you're Voltron, then yes. If not, good luck killing before double digit turns on the whole board. I've had to sit there in games forever, and it's not the funnest thing in the world since I don't have draw engines.
2)Every draw is a good draw. Well, 9 turns of plains is never a good sign, but it's not the worst thing ever either. The thing is though, I NEED to have some way to protect the artifacts, and if I don't draw into the early enough, I'm gonna die very quickly.
3)Really easy to kill. I dunno if I play weird, but my first turns look like this 60-70 percent of the time.
Plains,
Plains mana rock.
Plains equipment.
Plains Kemba equip her.
It's not too shabby, and it's gone quite far like this.
4) It dies to mass removal, and white has not enough spot removal.
HUH? White has bad removal? On board, white is the bar none best removal color in the game. There's literally nothing it can't deal with, as long as it's on the board. I've got a small spot removal for almost all permanent types, sans planeswalkers. My weakest one is LD, and I'm slowly gonna switch to staxs kemba, so that's gonna change as well.
1.) I tried to include all variants of kemba in my summery so voltron can = Quick. Should have specified, my apologies.
2.) Okay well if you want to be like that... Yes 9 plains is aweful. Theres ways to protect atrifacts from indomitable archangel to Darksteel forge. By every draw is a good draw, is that in *ideal* circumstances, if you draw an StP or a Sword of X and Y you'll be happy.
3.) Kemba is targeted late game because she doesn't seem to be a threat untill then. or in 1v1 shes just hated on. If playing a kemba hand, then thats how it should go. (there are hands which typically dont work well for kemba immediatly.)
4.) See above.
In a kemba deck i see it beneficial to board sweep when your being beaten down. White is the best board sweep color
Kemba is an amazing general, my decklist is below By the way.
My deck can be In your face or wait for a weakspot bomb, but i prefer playing a midrange sort of thing. A political sort of playstyle that keeps the target off me while i build up to defend myself and by that point its to late.
Its in the works and honestly you need sword to do well. Just work tradeing, that how i got my first sword.
What braught me to kemba is her versatility. Plain and simple. She can be voltron or not. In my deck she typically isnt but can be. I also find that i outmatch rhys tokens 90% of the time. The 2-2 cats and also a pumpe dup beatstick tend to bring rhys down before he can go off. Now below il weigh in kembas weaknesses and strengths.
Strengths:
Versatile
Low Mana cost
Equipment based decks that dont only HAVE to use kemba
Great synergy with cards such as Phrexian rebirth
Typicaaly quick games
Many times your opponents don't know what to expect
If built right, Every draw is a good draw
Artifact synergy is easy and comes naturally
Probably more but you can discover those for yourself
Weaknesses:
Pretty easy to kill first few turns
KEMBA DECKS ARE RAPED BY CONTROL
Matchups with board sweep decks are hard
Not alot of spot removal in white
If you stick with a sub theme it can get expensive fast
Typicaaly turn 5-7 is when you go off which is slower than some other decks
(ive gone off as early as turn 3)
I hope you read all of that, ive been building my kemba deck for a few months now and have worked hard on it and played edh very extensivly with her. This information has validity with my experience.
She is a fun general and one of my personal favorites!
Simplicity, effectivity, diversion and versatility!
My kemba is so versatile and i can run without it just fine. If you nevermore my kemba becouse of your token hate, i just find a way to get out baneslayer angel or another Beatstick and hit hard with equipment on it, repaeatedly. With cards like Windborn Muse Ghostly Prison and Norn's annex it buys me time.
My deck typically cracks off at 5-7 mana and by then depending on my hand il have between 4-8+ cats for blocking.
The best way and most common way to win an EDH is to feel the board, strike when not detrimental to you (multiplayer).
Or in single player depending on the opponent, either lock down strike, buildup alpha or aggro bomb them.
Praetors council
inst just draw per say but i definantly think its the best green card in relation to draw. I mean shuffle your graveyard into you hand!!!! How epic?!?!?!
If you like cute synergy with Kemba's kitty-cats, Raksha Golden Cub is for you.
Never seen that before. I dont know if that theme is right for this deck.
@hadoukkened I forgot about konda's banner! that would be great for this deck.
Wait does Konda's banner affect every creature? Even ones under opponants controll?
If so then it reminds me of Crusade which i play testsed and against the mirror or decks like Rhys, The Redeemed, it bit me in the butt.

i will update this weekly with new cards!
Artist credit is required when posting renders. Please review the forum rules.
You may reupload the renders if you include artist credit, but do not remove this mod text.
Thread also moved to general CCC, since you don't have much in terms of a set structure yet, just assorted cards.
