I think the Japanese to English translation makes it sound like a terrible Yugioh card. But it looks pretty awesome, especially in conjunction with Ashiok. "Yes, put them on top please..."
8 person pods for $15 a person, drafts fire as soon as 8 people sign up.
First round is single elim 4 person pods, last 2 people to survive in each pod move on to round 2.
Second round is single elim 4 person pod, last 2 people to survive move onto the finals.
Last round is 1v1, which sucks and just led to people splitting the 8-4 payout.
Basically it just encouraged a lot of teaming up before entering the draft. More like 2HG than Free For All.
As you may or may not have heard, Star City Games is doing Flashback Sealed tournaments at the GP this weekend!
Friday at 5pm is a 32-man TS Block Sealed tournament and Sunday at noon is 32-man Mirrodin Block Sealed. Unfortunately, both side events are sold out because each event was sadly capped at 32 people a piece.
Any tips for someone who has never played Time Spiral Sealed? I played a lot of MM drafts so I have some idea of the mechanical interactions but any sort of help would be appreciated.
I just asked MaRo on Tumblr if we'll find out about the block structure at the official announcement (which if history repeats itself will be within the next month or so)
Been testing Talara's Bane against Zoo today and I really think it has potential. Discarding a Tarmogoyf or Ghor Clan Rampager (or even Nacatl) is really strong. Possibly a more versatile answer is better, though (particularly Syphon Life).
Sadly, netting a Goyf or a Nacatl only gets you 1 life in their hand. Smiter gets you 4, but then you have to deal with it...if only the P/T buffs applied in their hand as well.
I have your last Urborg at my place, I'll bring it Friday. Bring your trade stuff.
Also I don't endorse you running Snaps without at least Funeral Charm. You do not have a single relevant MD instant. Also, 1 of Tutor.
Also also, Buried Ruin and Academy Ruins? Why not just double up? I don't think it'll ever get Needled/Revoker'd.
Why hello there Sam, it's Chris.
