I'm almost certain this will essentially target at the same time the creature is in the graveyard since part of the cost of something like Bombardment is sacrificing the creature.
If anyone is running Phyrexian Altar or any sacrifice effect that causes a black mana to be generated, this can also be a instagib combo with Blood Artist
I once farted during the final match for prizes at an FNM. It was a tense moment, everything was quiet, control vs control, I was about to mana leak, thought about it.. and farted. Then mana leaked.

Maybe not the thread for this but I’ve thought young pyromancer was over rated in cube for a long time.
It’s been in and out of my cube for years now and is currently out.
there’s decks where it’s a good card, but those decks are few and far between. You need much more spell/cantrip support than the slick shot needs to make it better than a random peice of interaction.
I think this is much better.
I believe it’s not in the MTGO cube at the moment either.
I know everyone's cube environment is different and everyone has different opinions, but Young Pyromancer is definitely not overrated. Not gonna say it's the best card because it's not, but it does its job extremely well.

I see this as basically on par with the better agressive/recursive black 1 drops. If that's your jam then this card's worth a spin.
It lacks the combo upside of a gravecrawler , but should be a bit more consistent. 2 toughness is nice.
I'm not personally a fan unless you are intentionally supporting aristocrat synergies, but to each their own.
It has even more combo potential than Gravecrawler with things like Goblin Bombardment and Yawgmoth turning every black mana you have into bonuses. It's also insanely easy to recur as you just play the game black is going to play anyway.

I'm always hesitant with these X creatures as they always end up being a lot worse in practice since they're always behind on curve, no matter when you play it.
It does have the option of being a good top deck with haste and vigilance and has the treasure tokens on death (for next turn) but I'm not sold on this card.

You can play this at any part of the game if you want to though, and you're not forced to bounced a land turn 2 if you have nothing else to do like Skyfisher has to.

I'm confident that this is going to be the best card in the set and we've barely seen any of it. That's how crazy strong this is. They essentially took Kiln Fiend, made it trigger off more cards, gave it flying and haste and gave you the option to cast it later for free when you have mana to protect it.
I don't know who they have hired at Wizards that loves red but my god keep the bangers coming.

I feel like I've seen the opposite as everyone else with Pia and Kiran. I initially didn't like the card and pushed off cubing it for a long time but after seeing it recently, it's been very solid and probably one of the better 4s in red. There's just so many good reasons to go wide nowadays and also giving artifact bodies and guaranteed reach are just extra bonuses.

Why comparing this to Bonesplitter, Lightening Greaves, or Shadowspear?
This is basically a colorless, and worse, Rabbit Battery.
The rabbit has been pretty decent against controlish decks in our experience. The fact that it is a creature and still able to hit for one when the opponent has a removal has been key to pressuring control, forcing them to eventually spend a removal on the rabbit. These boots, being unable to do that, while colorless, seem much worse.
It's colorless, doesn't die to creature removal and gives the creatures a small ward bonus. It's definitely a lot different than Rabbit Battery.

Knew that card was good when we proxied it to test but turns out it's busted as hell.
It's a 3/3 across two bodies for 2 mana and if that cat ever finds its way to the graveyard, it's literal hell for your opponent, and god forbid you have another red permanent because that 0 quickly turns into make a 2/1 and bolt something.

People get too caught up on needing to tutor for like Batterskull and Kaldra Compleat and forget that even grabbing simple things like Shadowspear, Jitte and Swords are all insane plays for 2 mana, especially if you get to untap and flash them in uncounterable.

Turns out big beaters that kill stuff end up being good.
