Please for the love of God, for an "anniversary" M14 bring back the Old card frame! I've been shaking my head at the modern card frame since 8th edition.
Wizards knows that Cancel is a bit weak and that Counterspell is too powerful. They want to print cards slightly better than Cancel, like Stoic Rebuttal. They've been doing this with Shock and Lightning Bolt as well, with in between cards like Burst Lightning and Galvanic Blast
If the term isn't used here, when the one card (dissipate) is better 99% of the time than the other (cancel) when does it get used? 99.99%? 99.999999%?? 99.9999999999%??? Please - there isn't a rolleyes emoticon big enough to express my disdain for this line of inquiry. There comes a point where being overly pedantic is foolish. That line is getting crossed here in a vain effort to score points, and I feel like I'm dealing with children who are only interested in winning an argument of semantics, not with adults rationally discussing a card. I don't have time for the former so I'll leave the thread. I've had my say.

There's definitely a graveyard sub-theme going on, so maybe we'll see a reprint of Dread Return (it's also got a flashback cost!).
I would like to something like Grotesque Hybrid, or Frankenstein's Monster. There were a lot of "Horror" creatures in the set Torment, which while not being a very good set in terms of design, could be something to get clues from. While it's not going to happen, obviously, I'd love to see Laquatus's Champion reprinted.
I think that the four regions all being essentially X/B in terms of colour makeup seems more likely.
Each of these provinces seems to be inflicted with a different B threat, and each is shrouded in a somewhat different darkness. Perhaps we will see the return of lands similar to the Tainted Peak, Tainted Isle cycle?
I think he deserved a trial, like everyone in the world.
In a vaccuum, I think for sure he should have been tried in court. But we'll never know the exact circumstances of the raid and of his death, so I think it's difficult to say for certain whether the US was in a position to easily apprehend him or they had no choice but to open fire & ended up killing him.
That is actually pretty insulting to the Marines you know.
Well, there's some truth to it. I don't think it's very insulting. When they killed him, they were ordered into that action. They carried out their orders and did their job. But, they probably were also thinking "☺☺☺☺☺ you mate for killing innocent Americans."
I'm a canon newb, so I only have a very basic understanding of who this Yawgmoth was, but from how the Guide to New Phyrexia sounded, not all the factions of New Phyrexia liked the way Yawgmoth ran things. Hell, I'm not entirely certain of this either, but the New Phyrexians might not even know who Yawgmoth was, since they don't have any Phyrexian historians. Then again, I think I've seen some of the cards or flavor mention Yawgmoth directly, so if anyone has a better idea of what's going on, please correct me.
You just really need one guy. The resurrection of Yawgmoth (not the WoTC will do it or whatever) would quickly bring everyone in line. You don't mess with Yawgmoth. the Praetors are basically some of the higher level Phyrexians in terms of ranking. I would put them roughly on the same level as Gix, Croag, and the Evincars. So, what each faction thinks would become irrelevant.
Because, let's accept it... there is a general wrong perceived concept of the word (and the whole arabic/islam) by most of the people, given thanks a lot of the constantly media manipulation and misinformation.
Truth. Good point, yeah I guess it's a sensitive topic.
None the less, a retcon of Rabiah might be really awesome. I do not mind if we do not get power cards like in the original set, but the simple fact to revisit an "historic" plane, might be really nice.
I completely agree - I wouldn't mind if the set was a bit underpowered - I'd be so invested into the setting and the story (maybe) that I'd have a blast.
1. Weak Pack, but the Blighted Agent gives you an unblockable infecter... while most any removal takes it out... I think this guy's underrated.
2. Tezzeret's Gambit is just a great card. It helps that I'd love to turn 2 Agent, turn 3 swing, Gambit to draw 2 & proliferate the opponent to 2 counters.
3. Grim Affliction - removal is removal & with the proliferate, this is starting to shape up into a great U/B infect deck.
4. Chained Throatseeker is big infect guy and it fits in with my general strategy. This guy's even good in a non-infect deck.
(I elected to pick up the big creatures over the tempo cards).
5. Quite honestly, while Glistening Oil might seem like a confusing and/or tricky card to play, it's recurring removal. That's significant.
6. Geth's Verdict: I like removal (though I guess not the best pinpoint removal card)
7. Another Chained Throatseeker - could do worse.
8. Numbing Dose: another, removal-ish card, which might be a bit overcosted, but is in my colors & allows recurring -1 life.
I believe most are just black-aligned. Mirrodin is unique in the sense that Phyrexians arose mostly from the glistening oil & are more of Phyrexian-Mirran hybrids because they use Mirran parts, take their metal from Mirrodin, are color-aligned due to the suns, etc.
I believe we would see Phyrexians like this on planes in which the only the oil has been injected (ex. areas that somehow briefly and just barely came into contact with Phyrexians [this would be something like when a Phyrexian Negator sent by Davvol ambushed Urza on his planeswalking journeys] or where Karn dropped oil).
There are places all over the multiverse, however, where Phyrexians have invaded on the orders of Yawgmoth. After central leadership from Phyrexia collapsed (keep in mind these Phyrexians probably have ways to travel between planes), what happened to the Phyrexian armies? Over time? Interesting to know what happened to the Tsabo Tavocs, Scutas, and Sleeper Agents.
That's a valid point, but I expect that a lot of the stuff that was originally planned for NPH went into Scars.
Which also means that it is possible that WoTC has plenty of ideas about other stuff with Phyrexians themes & cards. Another return to Mirrodin could be possible to see how things play out with the Phyrexians after they've taken over. Do they get unified? Do they start trying to connect with other Phyrexians across the multiverse? Do they start trying to carry on Yawgmoth's work rather than stagnate in their petty squabbling. Do they try to find some essence of Yawgmoth to resurrect him? [I had to add that list bit... just because it annoys people.]
However, since Arabian Nights was retconned to take place in the sub-plane of Rabiah, it's within the realm of realistic possibility that we could see an expansion to it, especially since Arabian Nights is generally regarded as a good, if not awesome set.
I'm seriously hoping for Arabian Nights 2.0. It'll hype people up like crazy - going back to a setting that was used for the non-Core first expansion & throwbacks to all the powerful cards that the set had.
Ulgrotha would be nice too. But, I've seen plenty of Vampires as of late. Sorin was basically the Baron 2.0 & they printed plenty of vampires in Zendikar block & M10. And there was a throwback to the Mephidross vampires in Scars block. But, still, would be awesome.
I also really like the Future Sight card frame and the Planar Chaos color shifted card frames.
Out of the 4 I like the Modern frame the least. Change it!
Rares I'd like to see:
W - Baneslayer Angel
U - Cryptic Command
B - Damnation
R - Obliterate
G - Birds of Paradise
Artifact - Legacy Weapon or Draco
Uncommons I'd like to see:
W - Harm's Way
U - Remand
B - Go For the Throat
R - Volcanic Dragon
G - Slice in Twain
Artifact - Worn Powerstone
Commons I'd like to see:
W - Tundra Wolves
U - Counterspell
B - Terror
R - Lightning Bolt
G - Kodama's Reach
Artifact - Phyrexian Hulk
Looking back on this, I guess it shows how little I like the creature-driven game.
Agreed. So, I guess we'll be seeing more and more "better"/"tweaked" versions of Cancel (like Faerie Trickery & Dissipate) much like we've been seeing things between Shock & Lightning Bolt.
Ahh, really wish Fuel for the Cause was 1UU or there was a good Phyrexian-mana counter in New Phyrexia.

What's wrong with the card Jihad? But even if that's the case, WoTC is by no means obligated to reprint it.
2. Tezz's Gambit
3. Grim Affliction
4. Chained Throatseeker
5. Glistening Oil
6. Geth's Verdict
8. Chained Throatseeker
9. Numbing Dose

Wouldn't mind going back there! Can I have a Ramos, Phyrexian Dragon Engine please?
I'd rather have Yawgmoth back. Gix would be nice. Or Croag... he's ok too
