to be honest it is good in any deck that can get up around 15 mana so you can Gwave for 12 :). i run it in my azusa and riku deck and wouldn't cut it in either deck for anything.
i took out soul's majesty for this card and so far have had no problems. since it is at instant speed, you just wait until after blockers are declared and if someone took 4 damage or 6 or so, before damage is done you play the card. that way they cant block since they already declared blockers...
so today in my LGS it was our LGS EDH tourney. it was me as azusa playing against a kalia and a edric the pure deck. i first turn forest sol ring. second turn 2 forests and gaia's cradle after i paly azusa, i then kodamas reach. next turn play 2 forests from my hand and cast an entwined tooth and nail. i grab a blightseel and a avenger of zendikar (had a green suns in my hand along with an e wit to get the tooth and nail back) turn 3 entwined tooth and nail isnt terrible.
so i run an omnath deck and it is basically this. ramp up fast and hard then either start swinging with fatty omnath or play one of the dazzling cards in the deck. like all of a sudden genesis wave for over 30. i am actually abut to make it an asuza lost but seeking deck to try her out
with genesis wave you can choose if the permenants go to the battlefield or the yard, you could have chosen to put the regal force in your yard... and won the game
awwww i just re-read the card. oh well, was still a fun game/funny game.
so was playing as omnath against riku and mimeoplasm. a ways into the game, i kill off mimeoplasm and have a primevil titan, and a blightsteel. along with rofellos omnath and 10 ant tokens with no more ant queen a skull clamp a caged sun and a top along with a gaea's cradle. the riku player casts a genesis wake for 9 and copies it, twice. after it resolves he has a whole heck ton of dudes and he also pulled 2 copy creatures and now has 2 blightsteels. he passes turn i top draw genesis wave. now at this point omnath has like 11 green mana floating. i tap out and cast genesis wave for 29. after everything the only thing of note is that i pulled a avenger out of the genesis wave. the 29th card that flipped over was regal force. at that point i instantly milled myself as i had around 18-20 plant tokens, like 8 creatures 10 ants and it over all drew me over 40 cards when i had 33 left in my library after the genesis wave.
the deck went overpowered hit its peak then crashed down upon itself. i lost but like if that wouldn't have happened i would have won that game during that turn as a akroma's memorial was also flipped from my genesis wave. it was really amusing watch it blow up then backfire...
Was it his general? I would assume so based on the use of torpor orb, but if it was even if he was holding onto the lightning greaves as a "suprise" bonus... you should have probably seen it comming specially if he had 7BBBB available.
It was his general and I had kind of given up at that point since he had a caged sun then sculpting stealed it so he had 2 of em along with a mimic vat with a chancellor on it and a demonic tutor in my graveyard. The other 2 players were doing nothing either. it was a meh game.
I lost a game yesterday when a guy played a torpor orb the casted Phage, greaved it and killed me. So yes I think he will start seeing play as more cards allow him to be abused more and more
