I think the addition Relentless Dead potentially makes Lashwrithe a better route than Gary these days. I've been testing both versions and I'm actually liking Lashwrithe more right now.
Relentless Dead is every bit as good as I thought he'd be. Truly the 2 drop this deck was waiting for.
Wrench Mind is such a powerful turn 2 play vs a lot of the field, I like how it's playing so far. Turn 1 IoK/Thoughtseize, turn 2 Wrench Mind, turn 3 LoTV is back breaking.
Relentless Dead and Collective Brutality are both incredibly powerful additions to this archetype. It really feels significantly more potent than the same time last year when I was playing MBD. I'm surprised this thread is so much less active than it used to be considering the staple cards we've gained recently.
Ebel, I really like the core of your deck. Sphinx's Revelation is exactly what "mostly black control" needs, card draw and life gain.
The UUW is just a little scary. I'm sure with Prism and Liliana it works out most of the time but I'm betting it's definitely an issue every once in a while.
I don't see why you'd want him in an aggro build over a control build with 4 Mutilates? I mean that's the main card that makes him playable. He's way above the Mutilate curve.
Add all the other removal b/r has available and Demon has been pretty solid for me.
I'm not saying he's a must in any deck featuring 4 Mutilates but he's certainly playable IMO.
I never thought he was anywhere near broken, but he is getting better with new spoils.
Especially in b/g zombies. He now has 8 1 drops he can get a lot of value out of if you topdeck them, in Gravecrawler and Slitherhead. He's better than any of the other 2 cc zombies.
B/G Zombies looks like it's going to be insane. Rancor, Abrupt Decay, Lotleth Troll, Slitherhead, Dreg Mangler (possibly).
She can't protect herself the turn she comes down.
Do you really want your planeswalker to either be a 4 mana kill spell, 4 mana fetch a swamp, or a 4 mana fog?
This is an incredibly aggro format with a lot of resilient creatures. There's no way you're gonna have the board cleared before you play her every time.
And in those cases 4 mana to fetch a swamp or kill a creature is pretty weak. Not worth running IMO.
My deck shows up MTGO every once in a while. I've seen it in 5-6 events I've looked at. But yah it doesn't see anywhere near the play black market does.
I wouldn't expect it to considering my deck's exposure, magic-league, is nowhere near all the exposure black market has gotten through starcity articles and finally t8'ing a starcity open last week.
I don't have a problem with black market. Just not my style. Always been an aggro-control guy.
MonoBlackOut, you're way too paranoid about life loss. You've got plenty of life gain to comfortably run SiB as is, no need to add an extremely mediocre main deck card in Sorin's Thirst.
Your life total is a resource. You don't have to off set every SiB with life gain.
I think you have plenty of life gain for SiB. It's really crucial for smoothing out your early game draws. Plus I've won sooo many games by just pointing SiB at my opponent for the last couple points of damage. It's extra reach outside of combat damage can be huge (which is why I also run 4x Messenger) in a midrange deck.
Obliterator is probably the best card in my deck. A lot of decks simply can't deal with him, and if they can they only have a few solutions. That's why I'm big on targeted discard. Stealing an O-ring, Dismember, Tragic Slip, and then dropping a P. Blitty wins games.
Understandable. Obliterator is an awfully expensive card to buy a month before it rotates. Definitely trade for it if you can. Honestly I probably wouldn't buy Obliterator a month before rotation.
But I also wouldn't play my deck without Obliterator. It and Lashwrithe are really the core of the deck.
Well if you're basing it off my list, you took out a staple of the deck in Phyrexian Obliterator.
The targeted discard does a great of clearing a path (o-ring, dismember, day of judgement, tragic slip, etc.) for him. Green based aggro has almost no way to deal with him (ramp included).
His interaction with Mutilate is invaluable. Being able to Mutilate on turn 5 with 4 swamps in play, wiping the rest of the board yet leaving Obliterator wins me countless games.
He's the 2nd best reason to run Essence Harvest. Without him Essence Harvest becomes significantly worse IMO. Even without a Lashwrithe, Harvest'ing for 5 is still extremely good. Especially when they're afraid to block Obliterator as is.
He's also one of the best creatures in the game to equip a Lashwrithe to. It's basically a two turn clock, or if you have a Harvest you swing once and they're dead.
I think you'd have significantly more success if you ran Obliterator. Just my opinion though, feel to free to ignore it if you want.

2 Leechridden Swamp
4 Thoughtseize
3 Inquisition of Kozilek
3 Wrench Mind
3 Collective Brutality
3 Dismember
1 Victim of Night
2 Sign in Blood
1 Hero's Downfall
4 Relentless Dead
4 Geralf's Messenger
4 Phyrexian Obliterator
2 Gray Merchant of Asphodel
Collective Brutality is amazing utility. I'm very tempted to up it to 4.

Mongrel was discarding Circular Logic, Deep Analysis, Arrogant Wurm, Basking Rootwalla, Roar of the Wurm, Fiery Temper, and Violent Eruptions.
No comparison to best case, discarding a Gravecrawler, and being able to replay it. Which isn't even that great.

22 Lands and Grave Titans seem iffy to me.
He is running a lot of removal though, which is good vs delver and all these mono green infect decks running around.

I don't think you need Liliana though. Just run Sign In Blood.
Not really sure I'd run Diabolic Revelation at all. To sum up my suggestions:
+4 Sign in Blood
-2 Liliana
-2 Diabolic Revelation
-1 Massacre Wurm
+1 Mimic Vat
I'd like more targeted discard than just 2 Duress also. But I don't think that's as critical as adding Sign in Bloods.
Anyway those are purely my opinions, doesn't mean they're right or wrong. Feel free to ignore them if you want.

Kind of a tough spot to be in.
