Thallids had a minor resurgence in Time Spiral/Future Sight; though i'd like to see Thallids and Spikes make a return.

Creatures like Skyshroud Sentinel and Nesting Wurm would help and a discard outlet would help; but there are likely better options. also, considering the 60 card minimum of standard decks, i'd love to see this in a Commander... or in a Thrumming Stone/Relentless Rats deck

I've always wondered if there's a Haste mechanic, why isn't there ability to slow down creatures and such, like Orim's Chant?

i'd say this is a rather boring card- it's one counter per turn. there are more effective ways to power it up, and it's vanilla too... for a company that owns DnD, tacking "Flurry of Blows" to such a mundane ability is laughable.

i think back in the day, people used gating creatures [Wurm, Horned Kavu, Sparkcaster et al] to bounce Blastoderm and Calciderm before their Vanishing/Fading killed them.

Im honestly surprised there weren't more spells with such an effect. Split Second ended the stack, so that doesn't count.

at it's core- it's a 6/6 Trample for 3GGG. You could run Dual Nature, Doubling Season, and Populate effects- but i wouldn't build a deck solely around these guys.

Treetop Village is probably still the best of the animated lands. 3/3 Hexproof isn't very threatening.

Better than the vanilla Giant Spider, as it 'replaces' itself...

Excluding Legendary creatures, Thought Courier is a reprint; and i think the worst variant is Research Assistant with an activation cost of 3U.
