I use this land a lot, and it works marvelously. Some people see the 1/1 as a nice little gift. It help you to direct where attackers are going early, lets you give people sacrifice fodder, etc. Usually the 1/1 doesn't end up mattering all that much, but the fixing does.
I am kind of amazed at [...] the fact that somebody on this thread called Mind's Eye, Mirari's Wake, Decree of Pain, Desertion, AND Scroll Rack, all before they were officially spoiled. I will edit this post VERY shortly with the username of this user who deserves at least all of the cookies. Probably more cookies than that.

Planar Void looks great, thank you! I will pick up a copy.
Mindcrank and Duskmantle Guildmage work independently and while I know it's an infinite combo, the only time I would use it is if I draw into them naturally and am about to die. I'd prefer to stay away from Basalt Monolith and Rings of Brighthearth together. The Monolith doesn't do enough for me on its own. The Rings are super useful but I don't have an extra copy and I'm OK with that at this point. Oona is more of a finisher and by the time I'm ready for her I usually have a doubler out. But yes, it's super potent.

They're both fine cards. If you need or want to run both, that's a good idea. Krosan Grip is uncountable and gets around sac shenanagins. Deglamer tucks Gods, so if there are a lot of those in your meta, it's a good choice.its just going to depend on which is more consistently useful.

I play Commander a lot, and I do mana weave 2-1 before I take a deck to the card store. Then before the game I riffle 3-4 times and cut once. It usually is randomized but more balanced than if I shuffled 15+ lands at the same place.

I control Athreos, God of Passage. My single opponent has hexproof or shroud. One of my creatures dies. Which happens?
A: I cannot target an opponent as required by Ahtreos' ability, and it fizzles because there are no legal targets. The creature remains in my graveyard.
B: Because no opponent can be targeted, no opponent can pay 3 life. The creature returns to my hand.

I am not a judge or anything, but it says "return to hand unless target opponent pays 3 life." So my guess is, the creature goes back to your hand because no opponent can be targeted to pay 3 life and prevent the effect.
That is my INITIAL reaction. But because there are no legal targets and the trigger requires a target, I can also assume that there's no legal target and therefore it triggers and fails to resolve.
Correct. The ability doesn't even go on the stack, actually.
Which is correct? It would still very much go on the stack, I presume. There is a trigger, whenever the creature dies, and that trigger does happen. It just might fail.

I am a rules advisor and this card presents a question that stumps me. If your only opponent has hexproof or shroud, does the ability get countered because you couldn't target an opponent, or does it resolve and there's no opponent to target so no one gets the option of paying life?

I emphatically state to everyone that Oloro is not to be cast at any point ever.
One time I was playing in a game where a new Commander player was playing and flat-out asked, "So...I want to cast Oloro, but I'm not sure if I'm supposed to." I explained that in the Command Zone no one could touch Oloro and the player could continue to get benefit, whereas once it hits play all sorts of nasty things could happen.
He cast Oloro. I gained control of it (I don't remember how).
