I ran Aetherling as a 2-of in the sideboard of my BUG Aggro deck at FNM last week, and the results were crazy. He absolutely stole games against Esper Control and Junk Midrange.
It's hard to pick a card art I dislike from Green in AVR, I feel like they're all pretty spot-on. I'll go with Flowering Lumberknot, I guess. It's kinda difficult to tell that it's even a Treefolk unless you look pretty closely at it.
At the beginning of your upkeep, you may pay _ life to put a 5/5 Demon token with flying and "You may sacrifice this creature to destroy target creature" into play.
I'm not the first to point this out, I'm sure, but on the official website, they portray Sorin as a hedonistic (The essence of Black/Red) guy who is merely concerned with looking out for number one (Black) and doing what he wants, when he wants (Red).
If he does colorshift in the Innistrad block, it will most likely be to Black/Red, for the simple reasons that the colors of the Vampires of his home plane are Red and Black, and that it's the most fitting color combo for his personality.
I would honestly prefer him staying mono-Black, but if he colorshifts I won't lose any sleep over it. It merely means that Liliana will go back to being the Black poster child as she should be.
No regrets. Maybe the Mirrans were bland, maybe just outright stupid, but no one deserves what happened to them. I'm personally lookin forward to round 2 against Phyrexia. But I don't want a third Mirrodin block anytime soon. Let's see some Phyrexians elsewhere first, perhaps in Esper.
Yeah, but you see... The Esperites would actually welcome the Phyrexians... They both kinda hate nature and want to make it perfect/compleat.
A Gideon Jura or a Karn lead planeswalker-league that will battle a -once again- pre-mending level Nicol Bolas(it's his ultimate goal and I think he'll find a way to regain his old powers back) and his Phyrexian and Eldrazi minions/allies (maybe Bolas would find a way to subdue these factions, or turn them into allies, or just manipulate them to fight for him), along with a veil-controlled Liliana Vess, and maybe a rampaging Baron Sengir (=p).
magic will end if bolas turns around and "haha, foolish Phyrexians/Eldrazi, i have somehow tricked you both into doing my bidding".
it'd be so damn typiccal, it really would be.
just seems that anytime wizards introduce something vaguely interesting, they just slot their dead horse in there and say he's taken a shine to the given situation
and is goin to see what he can make of it. its so unimagitive.
Didn't they say somewhere in the past that Phyrexia was created by a Planeswalker who preferred to take the form of a dragon...? When Bolas sent Tezzeret off to observe the Phyrexian invasion of Mirrodin, that set off a huge flashing light (at least to me) that maybe Bolas was the one who created Phyrexia. He's had plenty of time, plus we know he had the ability to craft his own plane before the Mending. But that's just my personal theory.
Back to the topic at hand, I like the idea that the bad guys won for a change, in both Scars of Mirrodin and Zendikar, but the Scars Block's ending is a little bittersweet. Honestly, no sentient being should have to suffer through having their "humanity" ripped away from them, both physically and psychologically. I would be interested in a third Mirrodin block at some point in the future. I assume Urabrask would assist the Mirrans in reclaiming the plane, only to backstab them.
My favorite part of the block was the idea of Melira. The one being on Mirrodin that is immune to the metallizing effect that the plane has had on its sentient races is also the only being immune to the Phyrexian infection. What I don't like is how she was just kinda shoehorned into the story at the very end.
Humans make the most sense as a W/G tribe to me. Van Halen-esque (I'm talking movie-style) monster hunters, townsfolk, all of that good jazz. We've already got proof of there being humans on Innistrad, so it just seems to be the best guess.
Wizards was looking for major feedback after scars to help them design future sets.
By the time scars was made hook was already well into the swing of being made.
Considering the gamble they did with scars block from a business standpoint, they are more likely to make a couple blocks with unique new flavor before returning to a plane, even the best liked one, as public feedback was needed to confirm to the brand managers that this IS a good idea.
Friends block, i can see being ravnica, not guaranteed, but more possible.
As for hook? I'm personally hoping its muraganda, but realistically it can be anything
I agree with this, we all know that Wizards plans ahead, and I doubt that another return block would happen this soon. If it does, then Wizards has guts, because this would've been in the works since before they had any clue of how Scars was gonna pay off. Anything is possible, but I'm skeptical on this.
If it turns out to not be Ravnica, I hope it's either Valla or Kaldheim.
To be honest, this is my first shot at building an EDH deck, so I'm not sure how good it'll be. I think I may have gone too lightly on the lands, it just doesn't feel like there's enough there, but I think the Artifacts might make up for it... I guess the general idea is to discard the bigger creatures to summon them with Sedris or just suspend them with Jhoira if that doesn't work out.

Wouldn't witches count as humans too? I mean, when you say witch I think of old hag women.
Yeah... That was what I meant. Of course, rock-and-roll monster hunters would be cool too.
