Hmm... I'm not sure I understand what you're talking about, but I shall try to help.
1.) Planeswalkers, referring to both the real cards and all MSE planeswalker templates, have this property that causes the abilities to separate into paragraphs of roughly the same height. In MSE, they are exactly the same height, although they may vary slightly on real cards. And so, the template will automatically spread the text out into paragraphs. That behavior you're seeing is intentional, and the only way to get authentic looking planeswalkers in an MSE template.
2.) Not sure what's going on here at all. All I can think to say is to remember that when you want to move onto the next ability, don't hit the down arrow, hit the enter button to start a new paragraph.
Note that in templates from before M15, planeswalkers came in three ability and four ability versions, and the templates could only have a specific number of abilities. After M15, three and four ability versions are built into the same template.
If I were printing out renders of my cards, that's what I would be doing. And I wouldn't even bother with thicker paper, since I'd be sleeving it with a junk common; I'd actually just plain old copy paper.
I suspect it will change, but only slightly. My prediction? The font will change to Beleren, there will be a promo stamp on rares, and the illustrator and copyright in the black border will change to match the new m15 frames.
All you have to do is click on their additional downloads link, and it takes you straight to my index where you can find almost every template for MSE.
Aranfan - "Vanilla MSE" doesn't contain anything newer than Scars of Mirrodin. Phyrexian mana is from New Phyrexia, and thus, is not included. Nor is anything from Innistrad block, Return to Ravnica block, or Theros block. To get any of that, you need to download and install templates that are hosted by me.
So... ask! I've contacted you several times before in my quest to hack MSE* so we're more or less best friends now. You can call me any time
Very well - would you mind sharing your images for the frames, mana symbols, and watermarks if you have them? I'm not sure what exactly I'll do with them, but I'm interested.
