I think its pretty obvious that they stopped giving out mythics so that entices people to buy more product. But thats normal. WOTC is a business and hence want to make money.
So I saw Reid Duke's Pox Legacy deck and I wanted to play something similar to standard and I went out about my business.
The reason I'm putting this thread out here is that I feel no matter how synergistic this deck might be it seems to lack the end game in a few matchups to "get there." Thats why I added the slight red splash to it. (the blue was there already for spellskite and mental misstep. Chandra and liliana play quite nicely together in the kill your spirits game vs the aggro decks. It absolutely ****s all over wolf run as distress into liliana or Pox is pretty back breaking for them. The witchbane orbs are a concession to shrine of burning rage. even having 3 spellskites wasn't enough to beat that shrine in my testing so far.
Hit me up with some suggestions guys
PS: Bloodline keeper over olivia is due to the way he interacts with smallpox.
i call BS.
your win cons are 8 creatures all at the size of 1/1.
you have 1 sword.
you have 6 walkers that dont end games with their ultimate.
Stripping him of any title he won with the use of fraudulent methods, or any subsequent prizes for tournaments that depend, in whole or in part, on the performance at the tournament(s) in which cheating is proven, is just fine. I'm even ok with doing this retroactively because Bertoncini knew, or should have known, that cheating was a DQable offence if caught at the time. Precedent : Ben Johnson.
The problem is whether the rescinding of prizes is legal. Ethically, I'm fine with it, but is it actually legal? (I would hope that SCG sought legal advice before the announcement. We'll have to see if Bertoncini sues or not.)
Future tournaments don't have that problem, because the policy has been announced, applies now, and everyone entering an SCG tournament knows, or should know, about it.
Who else hates it when someone with limited knowledge of law start yapping on about legal rights etc.
I'll admit upfront that I'm no legal guru, but the tournament wasnt a business transaction, so SCG didnt have any trade practices that they had to follow.
At best, Alex can sue SCG in civil court - in which case SCG calls upon DCI to testify who ruled against him. But why would a cheater create that much noise, considering he already walked away with P9?
The best thing for Alex to do is just take the P9 and run. And stay low for 18months.
And btw your deck looks go, but is Mind Rot working properly for you? I haven't use that card, but i would like to know your experience with it.
yeah Mind Rot has been good for me. the only deck that Mind Rot isnt great against is temp steel where they dump theire hand in a few turns. everyone other decks dreads it. and if i happen to get Chandra on the board first and fork the mind rot, its quite devastating.
u also see a remoal quite of 17 cards.....i'm not affriad of what ever creature u cast - except hexed or shrouded dudes.
i prefer karn over sorin's veng. the Chandra/SV combo is cute....but not great.
after play testing it, the only thing i feel that i need is maybe 2x more win cons...
Chandra is such a powerful card....the ability to fork anything is strong. I built this version based around her. the 7x Proliferate spells love Chandra. Forking a Mind Rot is powerful against control as they will have to counter twice to get out of it, and even then, they've lost 2x cards.
The most obvious weakness to this deck is Thurn.....I'm trying to work Liliana into the deck....when I get a playset

a dude cheated and SCG revoked the price. its simple. stop being an idiot.
so if this was a poll thread, would the concensus be that SCG made the right call?
after all these years i still remember the codes for both.
Contra 1 - up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, Start
Contra 2 - right, left, down, up, A, B, Start
:>
try make it more control with planeswalkers, removal and sweepers.
devil's play is fully sick..... its 2x firebalsl in 1 card.....and forking a fireball is rarely survivable.
i'm thinking of putting in another tezz's gambit.....its so good.

Even Pat Chapins says that color fixing in this standard is tough, and that his grixis deck has a "shaky manabase".
Why do we really need blue? Crapfaster Mage, Mana Leak and Think Twice primarily.
Is it worth stuffing around with the manabase for these cards?
Here's my take on Black Red.
3x Galvanic Blast
1x Devil's Play
3x Doomblade
3x Go for the Throat
4x Mind Rot
4x Voltcharge
3x Tezzeret's Gambit
3x Slag Storm
4x Chandra, the Firebrand
1x Karn Liberated
3x Olivia Voldaren
1x Grave Titan
1x Inferno Titan
LANDS - 26
4x Blackcleave Cliffs
4x Dragonskull Summit
7x Swamp
9x Mountain
2x Stensia Bloodhall

make it tool box style. ie, 1x Thurn, 1x Vidirian Corruptor....etc.
