I just read over the generals list and noticed a lack of Zur, Azami, etc. Is there a reason behind why the usual 1v1 champ. decks arnt up there? There's a Zur deck running rampant in my shop and im curious to how you guys have gotten past the Zur issue.
:oClique blows every other 1v1 deck out of the water.
Pheldagrif is the most awsome multiplayer general ever, and it always comes down to you and another person (who would kill G-Hug?). At that point, the other person scoops, leaving you the win!
How would you go about playing group hug? Do you try to help everyone out and keep the game balanced? Do you bribe other people into using thier spells to further your group hugginess (Maybe tell the blue player he can hae 3 cards for countering the Wrath that you just know this guy is going to cast next time it comes around to his turn.) Or maybe, do you use your political powers to get rid of people that have previously anoyied you? Or finally, do you just try to make InSaNe game states and roflmao at the chaos you have caused (Blue player with 20 1/1 tokens? Rofl. Burn boy with 100 life? ROFL). How do you play grouphug?
Iv'e recently built grouphug, so I'm making a shoutout to all all you other group huggers asking how to go about play the good ol' hippo!
Iv'e been thinking of building a multiplayer EDH deck for a while now, and I just can't find a general.
I'm looking for something that has a good chance of winning, ie competative; but not DB. I'm also looking for something not too expensive, 3 colors if you must, but 2 and under is
Also, having something unique and fun to play would be awsome Not looking for a boring deck.
It would be cool to build a deck where afterwards, people think of that game being epic, instead of just another lost game.
So, to sum it all up I'm looking for a solid general with 2 or less colors that is fun to play and unique and won't make me the table's target... well, at least until later
I suggest 1v1 for a number of reasons. In multiplayer, there is always the option of "who to kill" and this becomes rather based on who is the better player/ who has the better deck. Players may also "team-up". The reason the 4-man pods @ SCG work is because A) 2 friends have to come together B) Both have to play EDH C) They have to be lucky enough to be split into the same pod. Evem so there have been stories of gang ups and prize splits. In short, it's too easy to manipulate multiplayer when everyone knows eachother in an area. 1v1 is probably the better way to go, if you want to have it in a non-point system. If you are going points, multiplayer.
I think being competative is good if you arn't being jerks to eachother. I think playing on the competative side forces each player to strive to be a better magic player. If you arn't trying and your opponent isn't either, you're not going to push yourself to become better at magic. EDH is a truely unique format for me because I can be competative without getting serious and spendin time going to tourneyments 5 + hours away or more.
my ideal game is when each player is in a logic battle, where it is determined by play skill. This being said, all decks at the table being just about equally powered is great.
