Now perhaps if they did something like this for the Ps3 I'd agree with you :D. Like an RPG type game rather than a card game itself like the DotP were. Run around and face other creatures summoning your own and aided by other walkers too.. while challenging any that try to stop you frm some cmopleting some quest or what not...
Least if that's what you meant. maybe not, but that's my type of game anyways
I was always under the impression and could of sworn there was a rule stating that a token when it dies would still technically enter the graveyrard for effects that count that BUT they cease to exist afterwards.. so if this was the case wouldn't they count long enough or no?
And if they really don't at all, hypothetically if they did, would undying still trigger for them before they ceased to exist?
EDIT: Well read the rule from the post ^^^... Guess not for the rule I thought I'd read while back. Curious... Has that changed recently for I really remember seeing it in the official rules, least it was an old very outdated set somewhere.
Summoning seems to work differently depending on who you ask. Sometimes we see creatures absorbed to be used later, some are just mana constructs, and some seem to imply that we pull people from other planes directly. Unfortunately, that last explanation - the one the Legend rule relies on - kind of wrecks continuity, so we've got to try to step away from that if we can.
Have you ever seen that Ventures Brothers episode where the boys see their own clones and Brock says something like, "I think they're in some kind of saw-your-own-clone coma." That's what I imagine when the Legend rule comes into play. Maybe they are just mana constructs, but they still freak out (ie: die) when they see themselves walking around. I think that's the best we can do.
I'm gonna have to side completely with Stardust's explantion here as makes most sense. Little lame for some of these powerful beings to simply die to see themselves, but it works in one of those terrible messed up ways.
Besides, Love Venture Brothers so anything is right when that is compared to it.
I think of it as a single time stream across all dimensions. You try to summon a Legendary permanent while the same one is on the battlefield and a time paradox occurs, which negates both of them.
What about like Nicol summoning other walkers in the books like from other time streams in the battle with Tezzie (Test of Metal)? Not sure how the books actually fall directly into the canon and if ppl simply ignore that one for it's time warping mess.. but still. And not legendary persey, but sstill only allowed one walker of said name so fits in with question.
Thanks for answering that question. Whole time I've been playing I just assumed they meant the same thing, as did everyone playing arond me. Least I can use those other cards normally now.
It should not be related, as Karn has nothing resembling that...although he does have some pretty markings over his already-artifact body now opposed to older pictures of him.
See that's what brought about my theory on it. If bolas didn't have it when he wasn't a walker and same with karn not having markings as you said vs now.. could that be related to it perhaps? No proof says otherwise yet.
Could merely be coincidence that that's the case and may be unrelated and purely unintentional but still stirs the curiousity.
It would help me more also to know of bolas before the mask and all too but saddly lost with that.
Oh so he was always a full fledged planeswalker? I wasn't sure of old lore and such with him and when he became capable or if he used to at one time be normal so to speak.
Perhaps something he created keep from aging as rapidly or losing more power thanks to the mendings then..
*Just wish all this stuff was told to us from get go* lol
Avecyn has to be WB, it just makes so much sense.
And i think Grisle will be mono black... cuz he is grisle.
Liliana should be killed by grisle and then avecyn and sorin kill grisle. LILIANA MUST DIE. she has been around too long. If she doesn't die you could expect her to pop up in the next three blocks -.- which would be ridiculous. HERE'S MY THEORY!
Avecyn
WWB4
Flying, indestructible (or hexproof)
Humans you control have hexproof (or pro vampire, werewolves, zombies)
3W, Exile target non-human creature.
T, Put a +1/+1 counter on all humans you control.
8/6
Grislebrand
BBBB3
When Grislebrand enters the battlefield, sacrifice any number creatures. Your opponents sacrifice a creature for each creature put into the graveyard this way. Put a +1/+1 counter on Grislebrand for each creature put into the graveyard this way.
At the beginning of each endstep, sacrifice a permanent. Put X +1/+1 counters on Grislebrand and you lose X life where X is the sacrificed permanents CMC.
Flying
6/6
Sounds rather beast and probably couldn't think of better myself. Just random bit bothers me and though makes since, why would Sorin create an angel that allows humans to have protection from vamps. See why he would but also how that could just undermine himself too in a way if he made a mistake.
Then again, WotC would prob do something like that just for a beasty card. :D. Matters not, but good job anyways.
How long as this been leaked for?? First I've heard any mention and see posts dating way back. Any clue what type cards will be released with these decks?
Planning on getting just keep collection going and for the planeswalkers to add to collection too.. since they are really the only ones I"m missing.. and New Liliana that I'm too poor to buy and unlucky enough to get.
It's Nicol Bolas' egg. Dragon eggs take a long time to hatch, so she's keeping it safe between her horns.
What? You all thought she was a he? Nope. Nicol. Nicole. When she was in high school, she was known as Nicky Bolas, Nazi Prom Queen and ***** From Hell.
This made me lol...
Seriously though, what if was something he made that allowed him to planeswalk or such? Didn't see anyone else suggest it and I personally still favor the fact he's just that badass and awesome and doesn't need it, but don't know all the early lore on Bolas(so probably mistaken and I apologize).
According to the older images and such, he doesn't have it there. Maybe something from Alara just forgot mention?
Recently looking into some of the lore and noticed quite often(such example of Zendikar with never saying anything more happening with Eldrazi) that stories kinda just leave a cliffhanger ending to it.
Was very very curious what all happened with the Eldrazi in particular if they were defeated or if just still wrecking havoc like what happened with Phyrexian set.
thanks to the OP and everyone answered as helped me a bit :D.
