Seriously. If your LGS has these for <$100, you can scoop them up and flip them to www.channelfireball.com. They are buying the singles and the sealed box for $150 each. Normally I do not condone item flipping but if your LGS just can't sell them, help them out and help yourself out and move the product to somewhere where people "need" more of them.
Posted on the mothership.
It looks like his hood and his haircut, but he looks like he is infected by something. This could just be a DOTP thing. I haven't played it so I could be way off base. Correct me if I am wrong.
I really hope that this gets posted as part of the first post in this thread. I am going to break this all down for everyone so it is in simple english. I have been reading too much random rules guessing and speculation on how this is going to work. We have already seen enough cards in MTG that we can tell exactly how this is going to work.
Situation 1 (You draw the card during your draw step):
-You look at the card before you place it in your hand.
-You either choose to CAST the miracle or not.
*If you choose not to cast the miracle, place it in your hand like any normal card
-Immediately Pay the Miracle Cost (just like any normal mana cost) and CAST the miracle, ignoring timing rules. (During the draw step, before you place the card in to your hand.)
-End your draw step and enter your Pre-Combat Mainphase
Situation 2 (You cast Think Twice on your opponents turn.)
(Before placing the card in to your hand)
Situation 3 (You draw multiple cards at instant speed. Brainstorm during your opponents turn for this example.)
-You look at the first card that you draw before you place it in to your hand.
-You either choose to CAST the miracle or not.
*If you choose not to cast the miracle, place it in your hand like any normal card
-Immediately Pay the Miracle Cost (just like any normal mana cost), reveal the card and DECLARE that you are CASTING the miracle.
-Resolve the current spell normally (Brainstorm).
-The Miracle and any abilities triggered by CASTING spells get placed on the stack.
All situations are assuming that the Miracle is the first card you have drawn for the turn.
how many creature decks are there in vintage? Spells are way more powerful
Fish, Faeries, Affinity, Aluren(kinda), old Reanimator would all like to say hi...
Plus that's only one format. Stoneforge just got banned for just being TOO GOOD in standard. Valakut is made possible by Primeval Titan alone. Puresteel Paladin makes block right now, need I continue?
Am I the only one who have seen the image in the Arcana???? Take a closer look, especially at the right edge, they have left a tiny line of the image behind Evasive Action unhidden (epic fail, huge bluff or a quiz for the sight?)...
Can you see it? That's surely the Negator!! It's totally obvious, 'cause of the colour of the background... It matches the color scheme of N.P., sooooo... Phyrexia wins!!
The more I develop the deck, the more I favor Everflowing Chalice over Anvil. I do like Anvil, but as was already said, you are only getting the best out of it if you play more that one planeswalker a turn, which is really unlikely/unnecessary. I feel changing it to PW proliferate would be a lot better, but there is already a thread for that.
With Semblance Anvil making its way into standard now, I feel that a Planeswalker control deck could really be worth it. With the help of Anvil, you turn your 4/5 drop Planeswalkers into 2/3 drops, allowing you to keep open your control magic or just flat out play 2 Walkers. Also by keeping your curve low, you can utilize the new dual lands to good extent. I currently feel like the best colors would be WU. Lets see what we can manage here.
Just a heads up. Wizards has already mentioned that they will never print the word "planeswalker" in the rules text of a card (save for enumerating card types a la tarmogoyf). The best we can get is "permanent" or "non-land permanent".
The deck is pretty self explanitory. The goal is to ramp up to 7, get Sphinx-Bone Wand out, and then play as many spells as possible. With Time Warps and all the life gain, you should be more than okay.
Cobra isnt good for high costed late game ramp. It's better used for an early game push for your 5 and 6 drops. I don't see it surviving long enough to make an impact with the eldrazi.
You should take the Beastbreaker.
Beastbreaker is a strong card on his own. Also, he is uncommon, so the likelyhood of seing him show up again is not good.
You don't take Predator because, although he is going to be good with the set, Beastbreaker is better, and if you send a strong green first pack, you will most likely get cut pack 2. Also, if you are in green, you will definitely get your hands on some ramp.
You don't want to waste your pick 1 on an eldrazi. There are plenty of them and you dont want to be running a whole lot of them. You will get them later.
Do yourself a favor and take the consistently good, harder to get card for your first pick first pack. A 4/4 T3 is going to be hard to answer.
What an awkward card. If something is giving you enough trouble that you want to stop it from attacking, then you have to deal with a big wall in order to turn the tides. Magics all about 2:1s. This seems like a 1/2:1. you use a card, and they only kinda lose one of theirs.
