Actually I thought of using Knight of the Reliquary as well. As for the new ZEN fetchlands, are they really worth using it besides being able to fetch only basic lands?
I really wish that somehow Wizards print out some lands like the Ravnica duals. A bit early to mention it here, when FoD phases out from the format, what will be a suitable replacement for it? Wish that Kird Ape gets a reprint.
Also, I personally think that the enemy fetchlands really limits the ability to fetch the correct land from our deck, because our deck are using two pairs of ally colors and only one pair of enemy color.

Hey there, I've been following the thread for quite some time now, and I'm beginning to love the deck. I tried the deck at my local FNM, and went 2-1. Overall, the deck is performing up to my expectations, but one major problem is I found that the deck somehow will lose its steam in the form of landflood. Although we can't thin the deck like its extended brother because of the absence of the Ravnica duals, but is there anyway to solve that problem?

@Hound: Can you give me a copy of your list? In my area most of my friends are splashing G for Bloodbraid and Pulse. What do you think? And some people also asked me to test out Lightning Reaver and Stigma Lasher. Are those 2, plus Demigod of Revenge still worth playing?
Just started back magic, and decided to go for this deck. Been trying Sygg, River Cutthroat lately, and it works quite well so far. And tips on using this deck, like what cards to play on what time, how to deal with threats etc.?

For Demigods, one of my answers except for Godhead will be Dominus of Fealty... Just grab one of them and hit them back to their face, they block, fine, they lose a creature. If they don't block, even better, they take 5 hard damage.
Other opinions include Vendilion Clique, where you can send their Demigods back to the bottom of their deck. Oona, where you can create chump blockers.
Another question, is Jace good in the deck? A lot says it's sub-par, but I like him, and somehow I just wanted to put him in... Any comments?

@Cyrus: I posted my build a few posts back, and I would like to have your comments since you played this deck more than me (actually I just start learning how to play it...)
Regarding the Avatars, anybody has a good distribution ratio of them? Like who will be in MD and who will be in SB?

I'm thinking of putting in Vendillion Clique, because it can screw Demigod decks by sending them back underneath their deck... Furthermore, it gives you a flying blocker in case FoDs and Demigods really pop up... just my 2 cents...

Hey I just built the monoblue version of this deck and it had already caught my heart right from the first game!
Once Grinding+Twincast hits the board it's GG for your opponent for most of the times...
I played some casual matches today with a elf-ball, 5c control and Red-demigod... and you know what? All wins!!!!
IMO, when you're playing against red, especially the current type (Demigod), you have to think properly what you must counter and what you must not counter...
Now I just need some help for the SB, can anyone give some ideas??
Hope to see this deck in Worlds someday!!! hahaha!

I like the deck structure too...but why Gaddock as a 4-of? Wouldn't it will cause a waste of space in your deck? I think it's better if he is a 2-of...
And something else... Why nobody is using Qasali Ambusher? I think it's quite good for being a potential free creature....

Shards gave us a number of quite solid Gruul color cards. So, I decided to build a deck that fully utilizes the sheer strength and brutality of Gruul...
I haven't decided on the SB cos' I wanted to see how the meta in my region will look like before finializing it...
The strength of the deck will be it's sheer killing power in the form of solid creatures (some even with HASTE!!), burns and a creature generator (giantbaiting)... And when all goes well, you can even overkill with 20 power worth of flying dragons!
Plus, the speed of the deck is so fast that sometimes I can win unscathed! Sarkhan is an optional choice but he comes in handy when your opponent have some gigantic creature getting in your way... Cast Sarkhan, -2 off his loyalty, and your opponent shall taste the wrath of his own beasties....:D
I encourage you all to try this deck as it proves itself solid and powerful (in a sense, haha!)

Hello there, haven't posted here for quite some time...:D
IMO, Shards gave us 2 very solid G/W creatures, in the form of Steward of Valeron and Qasali Ambusher, and if you wanted to splash abit of Red, count in Woolly Thoctar also!
I played a similar G/W deck before and almost qualified for nationals but unfortunately, lost to a land-d Lark during the eliminations....(sad)
The SB is not finalized yet cos' I wanted to analyze the metagame in my region before I decide on it...
The Llanowar Elves and Safehold Elite are optional choices... If you want accel, go with the Elves, otherwise, take the Elite for more power:)
Qasali Ambusher is a very good card cos' it can be a potential free blocker... Imagine your opponent attack with a Lark and you block them with a 4/5 feline and still survive!!
IMO, it is time for us to leave behind the 'Elvish' theme and focus more on the quality cards that are granted to us by Shards...:)
Unleash the Aggroness my fellow aggro players! Try this deck out! It is quite solid and promising!

i've been tested this deck for some time, and i found out that the problem that i faced the most is you got a screwed hand (heritage is MIA, land flood, etc..).
cost me a lot of games because of this...

But do you think that Ghastlord is worth a try? Cos' it can deal damage while disrupts your opponent's hand....
As for the Plumeveil, why take it instead of Wistful Selkie?
For more info, this is what I run now (quite a simple and basic build for a BLUE starter, heh)
3 Plumeveil
3 Wistful Selkie
2 Overbeing of Myth
Lands
4 Shelldock Isle
19 Island
2 Jace Beleren
4 Boomerang
4 Sanity Grinding
4 Twincast
4 Cryptic Command
4 Dream Fracture
3 Evacuation
4 Broken Ambitions
This is how it looks like for the moment, will modify based on you guys' suggestions
As for the sideboard, only 4x Memory Plunder is confirmed. But I was thinking of running Vendilion Clique, Oona, Queen of the Fae and Pithing Needle.
What you guys think of my build?
Thanks to Zaphod from High~Light Studios for this awesome banner!!
currently i use 4x Broken Ambitions, but I have some other choices to decide on:
1. 4x Ponder
2. 2x ghastlord of Fugue, +1 Plumeveil and +1 Wistful Selkie (which makes a set of each)
any ideas regarding whoch one is the better one?
