I think 5 seasons is a good number, and enough to round off the show nicely; especially with all the hints that are being dropped by the writers - if I'm reading into them properly that is - these last two seasons should well and truly be enough without having to add any new characters or invent more story arcs. The future relationships between Walt, Skyler, Hank especially as well as Jesse and Gus is going to be interesting to watch.
We don't want to become tired of the show. Mad Men is going to 7 seasons I believe and that's a huge stretch considering season 5 doesn't begin until the middle of next year...
Breaking Bad is supposed to be a show about how Walt turns into this bad person at the end of the series. Walt can't really get any worse than he already is can he?
Gifts with GSZ, Eternal Witness and Birthing Pod basically ensures that I have Venser in my hand regardless of whether my opponent chooses to put him in the graveyard or not.
Once I get him and Stonehorn going, my opponents combat is essentially irrelevant. Tidehollow gives me a peek at their hand each turn and the rest is pretty straightforward. What do you think about the deck's endgame though? There's not enough to finish off the opponent aside from using Venser's ultimate, exiling and attacking with Titan...
So back in the day when the original Mirrodin block came out, I got the BR theme deck 'Sacrificial Bam'. I loved the way it played back then, and after a few years hiatus from playing casual 60 card constructed decks, I felt like coming back to it to see what spare cards I had to work with the deck idea and try to find some synergy with some new cards.
There are a lot of one of's as I'm only building the deck with the spare cards that I have and the sole use of the deck will be in a very casual environment. I just wanted to hear your thoughts on how it might be improved. I don't plan on spending anything on making this deck but a nudge into any direction is appreciated.
I used to have Inferno Titan but I replaced them with Solemn Simulacrum to isolate Splinter twin as the only red card in the MD. That allowed me to fix the manabase as I was drawing too many mountains when I didn't need them and the Solemn Simulacrum also helps fetch them if I needed them. Extra card draw is also a plus. Ponder replaces Preordain
I just got done marathon'ing through this first season, and WOW. I'm not familiar with the book series but I plan to be very soon. For the first few episodes, I wasn't so keen since the best thing that I had seen that far in was the White Walker prologue scene. That scene actually made me jump..whereas so far, it was clear who among the characters I was supposed to like and dislike; the plot was a bit transparent and predictable but that improved very much a few episodes later.
It's been mentioned before so I won't say what but I was not expecting the death of one of the show's central characters (or so it had appeared). I also liked how there were many strong character arcs and plot points that overlapped each other, which was very reminiscent of fantasy novels.
The show caused me to feel a mixture of emotions which is what I think makes it a strong show, and despite the somewhat modern language and the over the top (even for HBO) X-ratedness, I'm looking forward to the next season, even if it's not until April next year...
How much of the book series has the first season covered?
Being an ignorant guitarist first and a drummer second, I guess I felt that any version of a string instrument with the word 'guitar' in its name is all pretty much all the same and interchangeable at a very fundemental level. I understand that the roles of the instruments are different in the band setting, but I guess that's also why I prefer to listen to instrumental music rather than ensemble music. My favourite bassists are Victor Wooten and Les Claypool; rather obvious and generic, but they are amazing solo musicians.
@OnlyAngels: What's your band's name? I'll keep an eye out for you guys.
I resent that statement on the grounds that I was dedicated bassist.
In all seriousness though, do not fool around with Audacity. Garage Band will suit your needs better, and if you find it isn't enough for you, then you need to move on up to things Ableton or Logic.
My biggest gripe with bassists is that you guys try to differentiate yourselves far too much from guitarists I made that claim in jest, the bass is actually my favourite instrument to play. I'm just absolutely trash on it since all I like to do is slap and pop rather than learn anything new.
Well personally, this has been the case and I'm the drummer in my band usually.
