I played in a win a box tournament last night at my LGS, I went 5-0 in swiss(played against R/g aggro, wolf run bant, Esper control, Esper mill, and R/W/U enchantments), then we cut to top 4 as there were only 20 people, i won my first match (Against R/G aggro again). Sadly, i had to play the R/W/U enchantments again, It only ran 3 creatures, Invisible stalkers, Geist of saint Treift, and Fencing ace. He took game 1 by just with ethereal armor madcap and some other enchatment on geist. Game 2 he played fencing ace turn 2, turn 3 he madcap skillsed it and ethereal armour, i had out 1 arbor elf, 2 mana, and a predator ooze, he swung for 12 on turn 3 as i didn't have 2 creatures untapped to block with, obviously i got a bad draw but i was wondering how i could prevent this. (mostly sideboard wise, as my main board performed very well.
The biggest issue you're going to run into is that if you are including the shock/check lands in that $20 you will already be well over budget just by having a playset of them alone. Even if you went with just the check lands, that could easily be half your budget or more. If you already have the lands and don't need to buy them then they can be excluded from the price, which makes it a bit easier. If you are looking for ideas I suggest checking out the first three threads here in the budget section. They are all stickied and have lots of great ideas and decks on the cheap.
I meant that if i wanted to include duals/shocks their prices would count towards the 20. So i do not plan on playing them. I just wanted to clarify to people that way they could see that it should not be 3 color as i will only be using basic lands/guildgates.
Me and about 7 friends at the college i attend are all making $20 dollar decks to play in FNM this friday, as usually one of us wins to easily. (the competition in town is very low).
The rules are the deck can't exceed $20. (includes shocks/duels but not basics/guildgates) and it must be standard legal.
I was thinking a kind of rakdos beatdown with madcap skills but i feel as if this is an obvious option. So i want to switch it to something more original but i can't think of anything that would be effective and cheap. So if you guys have any ideas just post them please and thank you!
I run an Reanimator deck. I play it at FNMs in my town. It does quite good, but i just don't match up against some decks. So i decided to make a sideboard i'm just not sure what i need. Here's my deck list.
The plan of this deck is to obviously use the undying creatures to sacrifice with the rapid Hydradization to make 3/3 Frog Tokens. I thought about adding Bioshift to move the tokens from the undying creatures so they would still have undying but I'm not sure what to Remove. I also have the Desercration Demon to sac creatures and let it get a +1/+1 token. The thragtusks are in for life gain with the Conjurer's Closet to flash it every turn. While the closet could also work with the geralfs Messanger, if anyone has any tips or ideas to make my deck better please lemme know!
