I currently have no ways to actually search for Primal Surge, and I did that on purpose. Tutoring for Primal Surge all the time just got really old and boring to me. It's always more exciting to just top deck and cast it out of nowhere. But if you really want to search for it, you'll have to chain tutor. I used to do: Fierce Empath into Brutalizer Exarch into Hoarding Dragon into Planar Portal or Ring of Three Wishes. Then sacrifice the Hoarding Dragon to High Market or Miren, the Moaning Well that you can find with Expedition Map.
Umbra Mystic is one of those cards I'm always on the fence about. I'll slot her in but then almost always end up taking her out for something else.
Enlightened Tutor wasn't included because I didn't have one when I posted this
But I stopped by my friend's place earlier tonight and borrowed a copy from him. It will most likely go in just because it can also find Boots and Greaves.
I've run the other enchantment/Aura tutors you've mentioned previously, and I've honestly been very underwhelmed with each of them. I found myself preferring to have just raw card draw over any of them.
Edric would be my choice for an aggressive UG deck. The cheap evasive beaters can get a surprising amount of damage in since you can play them very early when everyone else is still trying to set up. From all the cards you'll be drawing, you can just combo out, loop time magic to infinitely poke everyone to death, or just run stuff like Beastmaster Ascension and Triumph of the Hordes or other Overrun effects to do it in just a few fell swoops.
First time actually touching this deck in quite some time. Bruna, Light of Alabaster is my EDH waifu, but she's ironically my least favorite deck to play
Notable omissions are probably Intuition and [card]Steel of the Godhead[/cad].
I don't feel like spending $28 on Intuition at the moment, and I have yet to run into anyone who has it for trade.
I took out Steel of the Godhead because I have very few creatures who can actually take advantage of it. Unblockable isn't too relevant since I have plenty of redundancy with my "protection from creatures" Aura. If I really wanted lifelink, I'd probably just run Felidar Umbra for only costing 1W but mostly for the totem armor and the ability to move it around.
Card choices should be pretty standard I feel except for Barrin, Master Wizard and maybe Treachery.
Barrin is a surprisingly decent and fun way to help protect Bruna. In response to removal, just sacrifice two Auras that you'd probably lose anyway and bounce him and Bruna back to your hand.
It's also good against people who want to get cheeky and Clone Bruna. Just sacrifice all your evasion Auras on their attack trigger so that you can actually block and then get those Auras right back on your trigger.
Treachery is just a decent on its own because a free Mind Control is sweet. But you can keep sacrificing and recycling it with Bruna to always have mana open for countermagic and other instant speed shenanigans.
Aside from Barrin shenanigans, you can keep abusing Angel of Serenitywith Body Double or Karmic Guide. If using Body Double, just pick the Angel as one of your exile targets on the trigger. If using Karmic Guide, just pick Karmic Guide as one of your exile targets.
There's also Flickerform + Unquestioned Authority for repeatable card draw aside from just abusing Flickerform on an ETB creature. Just make sure to activate Flickerform at the end of your opponent's Main Phase 2 if you want to have the creature available during the following turn.
Heartwood Storyteller is another card I liked a lot for this deck. City of Solitude makes sure that no one can mess with you when resolving or casting Primal Surge.
I think some backup win conditions besidez Purphoros and Craterhoof would be a good idea. Stalking Vengeance + Thermopod to burn everyone out. Hellrider trigger can probably take out a player before your dudes even connect. More haste outlets would probably be a good ide as well besides just the lone Battledriver.Anger and Cyclops of Eternal Fury are other creature-based ones.
Treachery also works really nicely with Barrin. A free Mind Control is already neat, but being able to keep mana open to protect Bruna or for instant speed shenanigans every turn is amazing.
For regular EDH, I honestly don't think the difference between mana costs is nearly as relevant as it is in a Constructed format or Duel Commander unless you play in a very competitive playgroup with highly tuned decks. I'll almost always pay a little extra for a more beneficial card...like Rout before Wrath of God for the option of instant speed boardwipes or Negate over Swan Song to hit more targets and not give my opponent a dude in the process.
I think Azorious Guildmage is my favorite of these. These cards are kind of situational and likely to just sit dead in your hand for a while as you want for something worth countering. But Guildmage is at least a body that can hold Equipment, attack, block, etc. You can also just use reserved mana to tap down potential blockers and help clear a path instead if you don't use her counter ability. I use her as an answer to Kor Haven, Prahv, and Maze of Ith as well as a proactive answer to most common Graveyard hate (Spellbomb, Tormod, Relic, etc.)
So one of my friends apparently built a 1v1 deck (Vendillion Clique Control) pretty recently, and he's already put together a second one (Geist of Saint Traft Midrange). And then a new guy we've started playing EDH with has Marath, Will of the Wilds Combo. I've been meaning to make a 1v1 deck for a while, so I thought why not give it a try now?
I basically just ported over my regular Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief deck and made changes according to the different style of play of 1v1 and for the ban list. I'm pretty much just working with cards I have on hand and managed to find at my local shop earlier tonight. If I'm missing something obvious like Wasteland or Boseiju, Who Shelters All, it's because I don't have them, can't find them, or currently have no interest in going out of my way to get them.
I've also come to terms with the fact that Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon would be a way better choice as a Commander for this format. But I just like Drana :/
I could also just play Kiku, Night's Flower, but I don't like how she can't really win on her own like Ms. Bloodchief.
As mentioned before, you get to run Prophet of Kruphix. Stupid card is stupid.
Sages of the Anima and Tomorrow, Azami's Familiar prevent you from losing after vomiting your entire deck into play if someone tries to get cheeky and force you to draw a card into a loss.
If you want to be weird, G lets playing a mostly basic landbase kind of viable and you can troll people hard with Back to Basics on top of normal land hate cards like Blood Moon and Magus of the Moon.
I started playing Barrin, Wizard Master as tech in my build. Because new legend rule makes things awkward. You'll swing in, make Bruna unblockable, and slay someone. But then next player Clones her, swings in, and you can't get the block trigger because they took all your unblockable Auras :/
But with Barrin, just sac those Auras on their trigger, block, and get them right back. Also great for contingency against board wipes. Sac two Auras and put Barrin and Bruna back in your hand.
Mana Leak and Remand are kind of weak for EDH IMO. I'd upgrade these to stronger counters. Delay and Arcane Denial are two other 2 CMC counters you could use. They technically have drawbacks, but that player should be dead before they even matter. Or you could just upgrade to Dissipate and Cryptic Command.
No Cyclonic Rift? Card is one hell of a blowout when it comes to boardwipes.
Did you just call Vanishing weak!? It's probably the best defensive Aura in the game IMO. Put it on Bruna to keep her safe for an entire round around the table or enchant something you don't like to keep it away indefinitely. The csrd is banned in 1v1, so that should say something abkut its power level.
YYMV. Seems very high risk, high reward. It's fine in Legacy where that Griselbrand or Emrakul is likely to just outpower anything your opponent can drop.
But when virtually any deck is capable and most likely running big threats and you have to be prepared to deal with 2+ from different opponents, I personally would look to other means of cheating things out.

Sages of the Anima and Tomorrow, Azami's Familiar prevent you from losing after vomiting your entire deck into play if someone tries to get cheeky and force you to draw a card into a loss.
You do get access to a number of permanent-based countermagic to make Primal Surge more difficult to stop and to protect your board after resolution. Some of them would normally be slow and unplayable, but haste from R and ramp from G make them not awful in RUG: Daring Apprentice, Decree of Silence, Draining Whelk, Mystic Snake, Ertai, Wizard Adept, Glen Elendra Archmage, and Voidmage Prodigy.
You get to abuse Deadeye Navigator to play EtbDH and Palinchron for infinite mana nonsense.
If you want to be weird, G lets playing a mostly basic landbase kind of viable and you can troll people hard with Back to Basics on top of normal land hate cards like Blood Moon and Magus of the Moon.
