This is an unlimited print run and magic is extremely popular right now.
Wizards isn't going to be able to print enough to meet demand? What Wizards doesn't like making money?
The latest video on their Youtube channel is the reaction to the fetchland announcement. They know EXACTLY what they're doing here.
This. People saying these will be high are just trying to convince themselves because they have the Onslaught fetches. These will not be expensive or hard to get.
If you run Eidolon of Blossoms and a black splash anyway then why not run at least one Pharika, God of Affliction? Seems like way too good of a card advantage engine. By the time Pharika comes out, unless you're already winning anyway, there should be creatures in your graveyard to eat for cards and deathtouching 1/1's. And Pharika should become a 5/5 indestructible fairly easily.
Here's my deck with a small black splash. I'm happy with it and will probably pilot it at Game Day this weekend.
I won Game Day with this list. I had Tombs in place of Wastes and one more Temple of Malady. Also ran Boon Satyr in the side to swap for Eidolon later if needed.
Great deck, lots of fun.
Ive been testing a very similar build too. I run Chord instead of Eidolon, but otherwise very close to this list. It plays alright, but I feel like it isnt explosive enough without the burning trees, so I am trying to figure out how to get them back in without wrecking the mana base.
Golgari charm has been absolutely nuts for me so far. That card alone makes me not want to run mono-G. All 3 modes have the potential to just break games wide open. It almost never gets sided out, so im thinking of going to 4x in the main board.
Nice.
The reason I don't run Chords in the main is because of Genesis Hydra. It can fetch a non-land permanent, and the ability on Hydra resolves whether or not you counter Hydra ("as you cast"). I just find so much more value in Genesis Hydra. But yes, Golgari Charm is completely ridiculous and amazing.

OF COURSE you can run a ramp version of the deck without BTEs. 4x Mystics, 4x Caryatids and maybe 2x Voyaging Satyrs work just fine.
Works better in my opinion. BTE is good for a very fast start but it's terrible in the late game. I'd rather have the Mystics, Caryatids and Satyrs on top of Courser and even Eidolons, with Nykthos. The deck can get very explosive by turn 4-5.
I agree that you can probably play it without BTE and run Caryatids instead. Although I've seen people choke up because they have drawn way too many mana guys that give 1 devotion. I also agree that you could run some number of Eidolons. Good card is good, but... I disagree (again) that BTE is bad in the late game. In a devotion deck, that extra "free" devotion/attacker/blocker/convoker is very, very good at any stage of the game provided you have something else in your hand to cast off of it.
I guess the difference being in what we're using the actual "devotion" for. In my version, my devotion is used to fuel Nykthos to cast things like a Genesis Hydra for whatever, minimum 7. I don't use much draw in my version, so a late game BTE is kind of backbreaking because there usually isn't anything in my hand that late. He's a chump blocker. Same as a Mystic. I have plenty of devotion already on board between Course, a mana dork or two, and a Nylea. Add a potential Hornet Queen, Terra Stomper or Nissa and I have the mana symbols I need. I don't run Cord, I don't have enough tools in the box. I'm pretty much Big, Green and fight.
Yeah, I use Chord and this guy is awesome for me even in late game. Sometimes that little big of extra devotion + convoke let's me nab a Hornet Queen.
This. People at my FNM scoffed at me having Hornet Queen in my deck, until I Genesis Hydra or Chord of Calling'd it out. It's so easy with Devotion. A 7/7 Hydra and 2/2 DT Hornet with four 1/1 DT Flyers for 9 Mana? Insane. With the amount of Devotion I can muster, on top of M14 Garruk, I want to try a 1-of Worldspine Wurm.
Thank you very much for your advices pruettjohn and Control!
So in your opinion there's no chance to run a ramp version of the deck without BTEs?
I will definitely give a try to Scuttling Doom Engine...maybe 2 of them?
Thanks again!

"Not modern playable", say the people who fail to realize that 90% of the time she costs 1 mana to cast, unless you need a creature land.
This is a crbuy good walker. It will see a lot of play in Standard. MUCH more than Garruk, Apex Predator. She will probably settle around $25.
It costs 5 to cast, as indicated by the number on the top right hand corner of the card. In modern you are often dead or almost by that turn. It also never effectively costs 1 to cast unless you have BOTH at least 4 forests in play and something to do with the 4 mana. It will probably see more play than Garruk, but that's not saying much, and is not a certainty. If this is 25 it will be due to price memory and hype alone.
It's a $20-25 walker, easily. It's a beast in Standard and will see a lot of play. The hype train was Garruk, Apex Predator. He will tank when people realize just how unplayable he is. Caller of Beasts is infinitely better.
I honestly think hexproof is dead but definitely not auras! I played around a lot with various creatures like witchstalker, gladecover, and fleecemane lion. After days of playtesting, I found the best way for me to maximize damage and efficiency just like my pre-theros bant hexproof deck is with this decklist. The sideboard still might need a little work but as far as the creatures and enchantments, you're completely set.
I'm not sure how Hexproof is dead when you have a two drop enchant in your deck that gives a creature Hexproof. I believe this deck is more streamlined and to the point. The only issue I've had with this deck so far is Supreme Verdict, and setting back up from one. Other than that, it's solid.

In terms of enchantment removal, we have Reclamation Sage, which is already in my sideboard but could become a maindeck house.
You're right, and I'm gonna try it.

Gaze of Granite. I swore this would see play and I was dead wrong.
Notion Thief. Not amazing, especially with Dimir colors, but this could've been a great answer to Revelation. RIP Lotion Thief.
Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts. Too expensive, but I really love the abilities.

Have you used the search function? There are multiple threads on this deck.
Precinct Captain has a much better spot on the curve than that.
