I was wondering, can I target a spell with Disrupting Shoal not matching the target card? I understand it won't counter the spell, but can I legally do that play?
For example, Player A casts Dismember, and I cast Disrupting Shoal for 2, targeting Dismember. May I do that play? Or does it have to match?
I must be missing a lot of things, because I don't see how your deck works.
Garrison and its tokens don't improve the power of Vile Aggregate
Kozilek's Return's triggered ability can't trigger. If it could, it would wipe out your board. The front side wipes out your Garrison tokens.
Delirium seems unlikely. You have 21 land and 16 cards that get you land for only 23 cards that do anything.
Ruin ramps you if you have a Wastes in play, but there are only 8 cards that benefit from the ramp.
If you want to play Garrison, there have been multiple RW Humans decks that have been successful at the highest levels of competition that you could get ideas from. Garrisons are even featured in the Boros Human Burn thread. They have also been featured in some R Midrange and aggressive decks, but I am not as familiar with them.
Edit: oh. I get it. You want to meld Garrison. The deck makes more sense. I think you would be better with a deck that had a greater variety of threats including the meld possibility, rather than being so all-in on a fragile threat. Having played Garrison extensively in Naya and 4c humans, I love the power, but it just dies without protection or a variety of other potent threats.
Yep. Oh okay, I'll take a look at putting in more big creatures to ramp into.
What if they unbanned everything but Mental Misstep? How would it shake up the meta? Would ELdrazi dominate or will Dredge be able to block them with Dredge Returns? How about Infect and Blazing Shoal? But that'll fundamentally change their deck since they need more red sources. I think Affinity will more or less stay the same except add in some more artifact lands
why not just use something like Academy Rector? Sure it might be a pain to find something to sacrifice Rector, but you get it in, you can even get Form of the Dragon. And Enlightened tutor helps.
The plan is simply burn them up with creature support. Or gather enough mana to search through your library and burn them through sunforger. Or attack with Puresteel/othercreatures. i think Sulfuric Vortex in the deck would help a lot, but no clue what to take out.
Hahaha Speculators. Got burned on this one. A deck like Noble fish is only good if no one ran -1/-1 spells in the meta. That deck had over 14 creatures at x/1
If everyone was to actually hold onto these duals and staples like the people in this thread claim to be doing, Legacy will be on the way out. SCG won't back a format where they have no cards to sell to the players of the format they are propping up. If duals become that scarce, all the other Legacy staples will skyrocket as well. There will be no availability.
wrong. if legacy is dead as you say because people hoard duals, then when the tournament scene is dead, people will liquidate their cards. An equilibrium price will then be met somewhere down the line with demand decreasing and supply slowly increasing due to people cashing out.
