This doesn't seem to me like it's hinting at more unique promos, but rather that there is now explicit tournament recognition for uniqr promo cards, saying they are indeed legal in whatever standard set they come with. It's more of a "okay we made this thing, now we have to clarify the rules for it and anything that could possibly come out in the future that falls into the same category" type thing.
This. WOTC has already acknowledged the massive pushback against these; just because it's plural doesn't actually indicate they plan to make a billion more.
All official sources refer to Ashiok as "they". "They" is the pronoun that they use. They are nonbinary. The only pronoun that is apt, canonically, is "they".
Energy- Looking too parasitic. Your spending mana to cast a spell that you might just have to use to get energy.
take Die Young for example. You either have to play it early to kill a small creature OR cast other energy generating effect but not use them, then cast Die Young later to kill a bigger threat effectively 2+ for 1-ing yourself. I don't know about anyone else but energy doesn't make me feel like an inventor, it makes me feel like a General/Warlord utilizing my resources for battle.
You're complaining that a card that has that many choices associated with it and plays dynamically even with itself is parasitic and bad design?
Not a fan of this at all. We can handle two different lists. I can understand not having either Braids or Rofy as a Commander, but they weren't anywhere near as busted as one of the 99.
Tapping one guy for eight mana over and over again isn't busted?
Its called counterspell, path, swords, wrath, bounce, etc. He's a creature and super easy to remove.....so no, its not busted at all.
Alright, let's unban Griselbrand and Protean Hulk then.

Matrix hurts us a lot if we're using Pack Rat and Mutavault, and hurts our curve a lot unless we side out key cards. If Tron is really common, I'd go with Ghost Quarter + Extraction, or Pithing Needle + Extraction. Waste Not is worth considering, too.
Damping Matrix doesn't affect Mutavault in the slightest.

A really, really cool one.

For what it's worth, I think the block is PERFECT for Block Constructed. Everything meshes very well in that case.
