In Oona EDH there is a card called Gemstone Array that is almost universally played in "tuned" builds due to the need to filter infinite colorless mana (usually gained through Power Artifact and Grim Monolith or Basalt Monolith into at least UUUU in order to cast and activate Oona.
This card is superior to Gemstone Array in several ways:
- you can use it to generate infinite Mana with Tidespout Tyrant and Sol Ring / Mana Vault / any (legal) Mox / Mana Crypt / Grim Monolith, and then use it to filter than mana into colored mana if it's colorless
- it is useful outside of "going off" - some Oona builds will use one CMC 3 mana rock (other than Basalt Monolith) like Coalithin Relic or Darksteel Ingot, and this replaces that rock as well as the Array, opening up a slot.
- if you (somehow) get stopped after the combo (maybe they had Time Stop for your Oona and dispel for your single counterspell backup), they now have to kill your combo AND this card in order to stop you from going off again next turn. It's (admittedly slightly) more resilliant.
- it's CMC zero vs CMC 4, so it's MUCH better to draw off Ad Nauseum or Dark Confidant.
I actually designed a very similar to this a while ago when playing Oona becuase I HATEd playing gemstone array. Unfortuately circumstances forced me to sell off most of my collection late last year so I no longer have the cards for Oona, but I'm very happy to see this printing. It's a niche card to be sure but it does what it does better than any other card every printed, without incorporating any form of power creep. That's great design.

I thought this was a strong film adaptation of an enjoyable book. I completely agree that it is important to change books when converting to film due to the different nature of the medium. Also, JL is quite attractive.

Disclaimer : I have no strong connection to the book, unlike many people of my generation. I only read it once, and within the last year at that. I thought it was fantastic. I also thought the movie was really excellent and did a great job of capturing the film. Great movie.

Wipe Away exists. Time Stop exists. Mass bounce exists. Teferi and Arcane Laboratory really screw black hard. Blue will clearly win all of these. It is nwo and has always been the best color in the game.

All of the decks have mixed strategies to some degree. That having been said, I see no shortage of amazing cards in the esper deck. Unless you mean to tell me that Divinity of Pride, Serra Avatar, Lim-Dûl's Vault, Nevinyrral's Disk, Sanguine Bond, and Sun Droplet are all lackluster commander cards, especially with Oloro as your commander. The only missed opportunity here is the absence of Serra Ascendant.
Disk is the only card in that list that isn't lacklustre. Vault is only good in 60 card combo decks and the rest of those cards are pretty bad.

I really hope the reprint the more expensive P3 stuff. I need 4cards from P3K to finish my cube, but unfortunately they are Imperial Seal, Rolling Earthquake, and Ravages of War. Spending over $1k on 3 cards sucks

Not only did SCG announce continued legacy support, they noted that legacy does better for them than the double standard, standard modern, and standard team weekends did so all the weekends I love 2014 feature legacy. Duals aren't going down anytime soon.

I'd like to preface this with my usualy disclaimer that SCG is the best store out there with the best people and I shop there all the time, etc, etc, etc, but today i have 2 (admittedly minor) complaints.
It seems like you guys have a new process around buylisting for store credit, specifically how the store credit is processed after the trade is verified grade, and the final credit amountis approved. In the past, as soon as I sent the email back saying "yes, your adjustments from grading are fine, please proceed" I got the store credit within MAYBE an hour, tops, if it was during your normal business hours. This time, I got an email back saying accounting had to process the store credit, and when I asked, I was told the credit would be processed "within 24 hours". This is pretty annoying. Why can't the buyer just add the credit to the account and some automated system ensure that accounting is kept in the loop. It takes long enough for shipping and then upto 2 days for grading (which is understandable, especially if a large quantity of cards and stuff that is in MP condition is involved), why add the extra day? I was really looking forward to listening to the OMG at work today, didn't happen, and my cubers are looking forward to a Eureka on Friday night that likely won't get here on time now unless I pay for the most insanely expensive shipping option.
It's just annoying guys. What gives?
Second issue- videos do NOT work well within the Mobile app for Android. I'm on an HTC One which is one of the most advanced phones on the market and the videos are unwatchable from within the app - they don't resize properly and I can't pinch and zoom (or widen) to get them to fit within the screen at all. This is also annoying, though perhaps much harder to fix than the first issue.
Edit: less than 30 seconds after posting this mystore credit came through. You guys are always one step ahead! Still, waiting all day vs the old process is annoying, but it's a minor complaint at most.
I've run Twister for years in several decks. I've always loved it. The fact that it doesn't exile itself unlike all the "fixed" versions of itself is clutch - Twister, Witness, Twister, Regrowth, Twister, Snapcaster etc etc etc is insane and super fun as well

Jace and Snappy walk into a bar. Snappy leans forward to order a drink and immediately falls over dead. Jace sits down and orders his drink. When the bartender comes over, Jace points to Snappy.
"So what happened to him?"
The bartender points to the table in front of him.
"What'd you expect? That's a -1/-1 counter."
I actually quite like this one.
Jace and Snapcaster walk into a Bar. They sit down, and share a drink. They hit on a few girls, everntually finding rapport with one each, and leave to have a good night.
That's my joke. Yup.

I used to play a deck that gave lifelink (back before it was keyworded and when multiple instances stacked) to Serra Avatar multiple ways. I'd attack and my life total would double, or triple, or in a few games I had my life total multiply by 10 with every attack. We used to play huge multiplayer games in school, and removal was somewhat frowned upon lol. I was well into the trillions in life many times without going infinite.

Part of the color pie. Black is best at killing creatures, which are generally the most important type to kill (especially in Limited), so they trade-off elsewhere. The game would be pretty dull if all the colors got to do all the things.

yeah Alex Hayne made a splash for a bit but Canadians really can't seem to break in consistently.
I think there are a few factors.
Geography is a big one. Not having the SCG Open is another (seriously, why don't they expand up here!!).
Not having a big Canadian retailer is another. I really don't like FtF's website layout, and the stock is rather...meh compared to SCG. SCG is incredibily awesome to deal with, so despite having a much larger shipping cost, I always shop there.
The othe issue is that we don't have American-style teams up here for the most part, and those that we do, play Legacy (which is awesome) instead of Standard or Modern.
It's getting better, but meh, what can you do? Oh that's right - CUBE!
