This is my starting point for now, but I am pretty sure it will change once I get more and more comfortable with the deck. Below are the changes between my and Turtle's build with a short description of why I think I can make those changes. Also I give some cards I have under observation to pull and switch with cards that I have in the "sideline" section. Let me know what you think and please give me your suggestions.
Thanks in advance
EDIT: I forgot to say thanks for the couple of lines on how to play the deck. I will keep that in mind next time I play. As you say I am going to need to play a couple of games before I really get a feel for the deck. I am confident however that I will get there
So for my choices: Yavimaya Elder: I really like him because he can give me 2 sure land drops. Archon of Justice: He is a good removal that is recurrable, this works well with the sac outlets that have been built in already. Sylvan Tutor: Donald does not like this card, or rather it has not worked out so well for him. In my Saffi deck I have never been unhappy with it. It helps my to get to the creature I need when I need it. Natural order: Another tutor that puts a green dude directly in play. I guess I'm going to have to see where I can squeeze Avenger of Zendikar to get more value out of this. Idyllic tutor: another tutor for enchantments this time, can get Sylvan library or aura shards or any other of the 20 enchantments that are in. In my opinion, adding the tutors adds a little bit of flexibility to the deck. Mana reflection: This is just nuts with cradle... Phyrexian Altar: I swapped this for spawning pit. I think it is more important to generate mana. In this case the tokens act like mana "storage". Scroll Rack: If you are out of cards Rack is worse than top, however usually if you set it up correctly, you can dig deeper into your library.
As for what I pulled, well I had to make room for the cards somewhere. I guess elder takes the spot of Forays. The tutors and rack are a swap for top and harmonize. My plan is to tutor for stoneforge mystic and get to skullclamp. With rhys in play this gives me 2 cards for 4 mana which I really like. A little bit less efficient is the use of Mentor of the meek, but that guy rocks as well. He works out great in my Saffi deck and IN this deck, with even more triggers he should be fine. Sprout swarm comes out for Sylvan tutor. I gather that I can always go for Ant Queen. I am kind of following Donald's advice in that I should try to stay away from cards that I cannot tutor for.
The loss of O-stone might hurt at some point and i will try to squeeze it back in.
The only difference I want to underline is the addition of Deserted temple for an untap of Gaea's Cradle. Also a possible play to get another untap is to Knight of the reliquary in Selesnya Sanctuary to bounce cradle and replay it if I haven't played a land that turn yet. Finally there is the possibility of playing Rings of Brighthearth from infinite mana. Rings could be used to make even more tokens like described by Tanarin. I have to work some more to see where I can squeeze it in.
Cards under observation
Concordant Crossroads: I am really not sure when to drop this thing. Similarly to Fecundity this guy is symmetrical and this has to be played with utmost care to not shoot yourself in the foot. Fecundity: Same comment as above. Karmic Justice: This card is really nice when paired up with Sterling grove and Privileged position. It is a blowout against mass enchantment removal. Even against land destruction it is great. owever since it does not protect my creatures I am not sure how much this helps. Beastmaster Ascension: I can see that having a billionty 6/6 dudes is huge, especially under Humility, but does this thing happen often? My very brief experience with the deck did not give me an answer and I am dubious, but I'll give a chance still and thus it is under observation.
Sideline cards: cards I would like to add but do not have room yet
False prophet: for more creature control. This might hurt me more because it exiles everything. This is very strong in my Saffi deck but maybe does not fit here. Oblivion Stone: adding some mass removal and permanent control. Avenger of Zendikar: Late game this guy can produce a huge amount of tokens. I am still not (quite) convinced that I really need him as he kind of depends on Primeval Titan.
A or a couple planeswalkers: Garruk Wildspeaker, Garruk, Primal Hunter, Elspeth Tirel, Elspeth, Knight-Errant. These are just crazyness, especially if there is a doubling season involved, so much so that you can ultimate each of them the turn they are played. Rings of brighthearth: I want to add that for all the reasons Tanarin gives plus the possibility of infinite mana with the right lands. And also once you consider having the planeswalkers in the deck, rings become even more absurd.
From these I think the planeswalkers and rings are the first ones I am going to try out. Has any of you guys got some experience with the planeswalkers? Do they fit in this deck?
You have Idyllic tutor in both instance and sorcery spots.
I was wondering what do you think of Avacyn, Angel of Hope and Sigarda, Host of Herons. One makes your stuff indestructible and the other prevents you being forced to sac?
