Did you receive a shipping confirmation email? or did the package just show up?
I received my shipping confirmation and actually got a phone call from FedEx that someone needed to be present to sign or that I can schedule for my package to be dropped off at a FedEx pick up center. I had standard shipping.
I checked it at 7:29AM and in haste clicked the link twice. It put two in my cart and I panicked cause of the cancelled multiples from last year. Between logging in and removing the extra it felt like forever. Sped through checkout so fast that they could have had standard shipping at 200.00 and I wouldn't have checked it.
Did anyone who also got one notice any heavy traffic on the site or was it pretty smooth?
Side note: I was using an iPhone to do this. I had to pull over as fast as I safely could.
I ended up picking a few of these triplicate packs from Target last year that had either fallen empires or nemesis as the middle pack. I don't think WOTC put these packs together. As far as I know Excell Marketing out of Iowa puts these packs together as they stock the shelves for the big box stores. The next time you go to a Target store buy a pack of cards. They will show on the register and your receipt as "Excell."
A few years back they had some sealed boosters in similar packaging labeled as vintage booster packs. The ones I saw each had only one pack and was at a 7.99 price point. It had Betrayers of Kamigawa packs.
Sometimes these things are gold. I got all the Commander decks two years ago through these deals. Actually numerous copies of each. Divine vs Demonic as well (with Akroma and Lord of the Pit foils). Fire and Lightning. Really good things worth the money plus more.
Of course I also bought packs that had two land bundles, a core kit common bundle, and the Ajani from Ajani vs Bolas decks. So it's up to you to figure out if it's worth it. Really helps if you can see the decks inside obviously.
^This.
I've also picked up a few which contained the Divine vs Demonic decks, mimeoplasm and zedruu commander decks. Usually the cases that they come in are clear and you can see what is in there. I ran into one that was packed with 5 land packs. That would have been a horrible purchase. A lot of these deck packs are thrown together from damaged product that the major retailers give back to the vendors like Excell with Target. I spoke to one of the vendors when they were stocking one day and they were pretty upfront with all the questions I had.
I actually collected this card when I first started playing magic. Then I just used it as a handle for everything. I had a silly deck with leviathan and polar kraken. It was really bad now that I look back at it.
Update: I schlepped on over to near the border of Pennsylvania to find a Toysrus with Mind Seize and Esper and called it a day. Surprised to see them at 39.99; but, oh well, I had tons of old gift cards that were collecting dust.
Toys R Us tends to mark up their prices on many other things they sell including MTG stuff. Their regular boosters cost 4.99 and the regular precon decks run close to 18.99. If they have the Deck Builders Toolkit, they run that close to 27.99.
They even tried selling the Kaijudo Under 10.00 bundle for 15.99 until I complained to their manager that it says on the box that it's under 10.00.
They mark up things like LEGO as well. One of their managers told me they do this because they get product (such as LEGO) from their distributors early and are allowed to sell it earlier than it normally comes out. Doesn't seem right but they do it.
Targets near my area I'm vacationing in had all except the grixis deck. Most of the LGS were selling at msrp and weren't gouging. The other boxes aren't selling but I think there is a small group of players here wiping the shelves so a lot of places put up a one per customer limit.
Did anyone just notice the change on the SDCC exclusives page? The availability just went from "Currently not available" to "Usually ships within 2-3 business days."
It popped up at 5:21PM PST on my AlertBox but the product still technically states out of stock. I'm guessing it didn't get re-listed since they're closed, but just noticed this change.
Now with the second wave that passed this morning selling out in less than three minutes, where do people think this set is going to settle at? I'm assuming if they finally take it off the site, might we see a jump in price from these 450.00 buy it now on eBay as some people may panic that they will have no other way to get these cheap?
Welp. That's what happens when I finally decide to take a break from refreshing.
I'm sure I'll eventually get to pick up pieces of this. Maybe some of us will get lucky and snag a FTV 20 at msrp and swap it for the promo walker set.
Crazy. As much as I wanted these, at least seeing the sold out sign puts closure on this for me and I can go back to enjoying Magic normally.
All this page refreshing and checking is bringing me back to my HNM hunting days in ffxi... Everyone just standing and waiting, ready to claim the monster when it pops.
And just like those days, I'm gonna close my eyes for a second and it will be gone.
I just realized that the art for the black on black Jace is the same art on the Jace T-Shirt sold at the trading card displays at some Walmart and Target stores.

They are available for order now and will start shipping out May 1st
I thought I wanted one at first but now that I've had time to think about it, it's not for me.

The things we do for these pieces of cardboard
My buddy waited in line for these just to fall 5 people short. Now it's come to this!
