I wish they printed Vindicate. Yes, I am that insane.
Mortify would make Junk pretty removal heavy and versatile against artifacts and enchantments. Wizards don't want us to pack that many removals, I feel.
It is what Angelic Destiny ought to be. It increases the clock of your creatures while you don't get 2-for-1. That's what Rancor helps with.
In all honesty though, there are better cards to play in some decks. I mean, Kessig Wolf Run is like a land version of what Rancor does, and you could always play more creatures. Still, Rancor's advantage, once you land it, is without question, pressure.
Ever saw a 5/1 Pligrim bashing people on turn 2? That's what Rancor is about, pressure. Suddenly everything can be a threat for just G. That's the effectiveness of Rancor.
Sometimes, the companies themselves have to realize that legalizing what is illegal will work better than all the C&Ds. Pirating MP3s are lower now as free streaming is so much easier and you don't get headaches from the media companies.
It isn't too bad, but when you get creatures that nets you benefits once they hit the board, and the fact that red doesn't really like playing the long game, makes it not a constructed worthy card.
It's like Angelic Skirmisher. It wants to be in a list with many creatures, but by that time your opponent is either dead, or you are probably able or close to an Aurelia or a Gisela that does more. Charmbreaker Devils wants to be in a list with lots of instants and sorceries, but red's burn will probably throttle them to death before Charmbreaker hits the field, and even in the other big sorcery and instant colour, blue, you probably are better off served with Drownyard adding Grixis flavour when you have that much backup counters to make the Charmbreaker big enough.
Aggro is a good matchup unless it comes in the form of the Aristocrats. Been goldfishing on Cockatrice and although you can win with Healers and Thragtusks blocking the ground, their two Aristocrats are quite deadly in the midgame where we are supposed to take over. And then Zealous Conscripts appears to take your biggest threat away, permanently if the 2 creatures are there. Not good fun.
That being said, I think the list should really consider some more reach against control as well. I have tried a red splash using 2 Kessig Wolf Runs and Gisela as a one-of and when they are on your side, it is great as every single creature in the list is a must-answer, making Gisela a good way to surprise. Makes me want to add in Garruk to enable me drawing into the red stuff more often though.

That said, I like the card enough to want to try to play it in a Junk Midrange shell. Problem is, what to cut?

But when the stars align, it is a great finisher, and double strike is always a good way to deal a lot of damage in a hurry.

Still, I will try my best to force this card into a deck.

I can find a fun deck for it. Plus, it's only B.

I don't like how it is a 5/6 and it can't target Baneslayer Angel, but for me, the ability to hit almost anything? Great.
