Yes, they're obviously different, but he's on point - Prowess is the "casting more spells matters" mechanic that the Jeskai imply
No, that's like saying haste and battalion are 'basically the same'
That's not even close to similar. I'm comparing two keywords that focus on playing many spells before going for the "push"
You compared things that...yeah no. No.
My comparison of Prowess to a "friendlier" storm-like mechanic was fine.
And haste and battalion both foster the mentality of mustering groups of creatures to attack with quickly.
You said prowess was basically storm, that's entirely incorrect.
Stop picking at "they're two different mechanics." Obviously they're two different mechanics. I understand that they're two different mechanics. That's why one is Storm and the other is Prowess, but read the description in the OP which I was responding to. Both Storm and Prowess fill a similar "mental image" of the given description.
And stop comparing Haste and Batallion. Haste doesn't have anything to do with mustering groups. At least compare Banding and Battalion. Or Battalion and Soulbond.

The old Elder Dragons really need new art commissioned.
If they all look like Snake Lizard Frog Yoda dragons, then we'll know Ugin is an Elder Dragon.
If they don't, well then we know shenanigans are going on, and at the very least we'll all have an awesome new art for Arcades Sabboth
Well Wizards said they will be toning down the power level of cards through next few blocks, so I guess they are starting here.
I have been playing for more than 15 years now and I don't like how much dumber Wizards madee this game from removing damage on stack until now. But I feel even more dumber because I'm still playing it. I guess I will quit when Magic will become next Yu-Gi-Oh.
/end offtopic rant
Considering Yu-Gi-Oh has an extremely high power level, has very quick games, and isn't "dumbed down", I don't think you'll be quitting anytime soon.
If anything, Magic is going in the opposite direction of Yugioh. If you were REALLY going to quit when Magic becomes Yugioh, you'd be quitting if Khans was full of Modern and Legacy playable cards.
Kind of the complete opposite of your complaint there, isn't it.
I kind of can't believe the negative comments here and total dismissal by the backseat designers of the spec forum. If an opponent doesn't have evasion that 1/1 token is plenty to allow the base creature to get huge and take over the game. This is the colors of vindicate and abrupt decay and maelstrom pulse and putrefy, decks in Abzan will be packing the best removal magic has to offer to get to the point for that to be possible.
Its all ridiculous to dismiss this mechanic given that we have one RARE implementation of it. This is essentially a limited pack rat again at worst, don't embarrass yourselves.
I didn't know that Vidicate, Abrubt Decay, Putrefy, and Maelstrom Pulse were in Standard.
Hopefully they're spoil some decently pushed/iconic cards for each mechanic. I'm not really looking forward to another Inspired/Tribute/Bestow scenario.
Or Cipher.

Interesting if true?
(Not as in "Tibalt is bad and ult is bad", as in, "That's an Ult I would imagine on a Tibalt.")
That being said, the +1 is great. After a turn of that and his -3 you should be good to go.
You'll only be able to get off a few Delves before your effects are dead.
Or Cipher.
I like it.
