@ Kueson I don't think I'd actually cut a KCB for the Huntmaster. I'd probably cut an emissary actually I don't think you probably need 4 with pod to fetch them. It should be noted that with all this mana ramping now we should think about a kind of high end creature.
Edit: I just tested the Emissary and I'm not really sure how much I like them I just don't know what this deck wants to ramp in to. I like the idea, but maybe we should bput something in to ramp to? If not how good do you guys think Starngleroot Geist would be?
TBH I think you could take out 2 Gnaw to the Bones for 2 Slagstorms or if you want you could try Rolling temblor. I'd actually be interested to see how that does. how good has Emissary been for you?
With all the Gitaxian Probes running around this actually seems like a kinda cool combo. Look at their hand then potentially lock out 1 of their cards while possibly making it huge with a pike?
@Kueson: Thanks for the report on Birthing Pod. I think that it was kind of discussed earlier, but no one really persued testing it. I'll try it out as soon as I can grab some pods. I still think that we need to main deck some Slagstorm. I just finished playing my first match against W/B tokens, and GttB just wasn't going to get the job done. The problem is that, once they get out Vault of the Archangel, they can out lifegain us. Therefore, they stall better than us, while killing all of our creatures. The only way to combat that is to clear out all of their blockers and then alpha strike them. I do think that you sided correctly in your match though. It's not an unwinnable match by any means, but it is probably one of the only matchups where it is more important to deal with the opponent's creatures than to just play big beaters.

I actually like the Pod Idea it's obviously better than Shriekhorn and it allows us to stay straight red green. Also makes late game birds etc good. Kueson do you think 2 is a good number?
Also it makes Stragleroot Geist absurd (but he's also counterproductive for the deck. We could also run a singleton Thrun now against control.
Just got my DKA box today and will be building this deck soon. One question -- and granted I only looked at the last couple pages of the thread -- but why do I see no list running Wild Hunger? It seems like a perfect fit here. It's got flashback so you can discard it to Faithless Looting with glee; and if you resolve it on a Boneyard Wurm or, God forbid, a Ghoultree, that could be game over right there. More trampling monsters is always good; the deck can only have 4 Splinterfright, after all. I know I'll be testing with at least 2 Wild Hunger to start.
RealOG what do you think of running Thrun in the SB or MD? I think Kuji originally mentioned it and I'm now starting to see the power of the card. After watching a little bit of the SCG Open it seems like it hoses U/W Delver pretty good.
Also of note our match-up to mill(your opponent type) is probably not great because they'll only need to mill around 20 instead of say 50. Since one of my friends is using that for FNM I'm probably gonna have to get a Blightsteel.
Good list Real, definitely gonna copy it for testing. I do like the minimal U splash right now but obviously the straight R/G benefits are great. Quick aside, after someone mentioned Forge Devil I started thinking of little quirky cards that could help so has anyone tried Torch Fiend in place of Ancient Grudge? Flashback is awfully nice but against what we would want it for (Cage), we wouldn't be getting the extra utility every time. Since it comes down early and beats for 2 plus can fill the yard, it seemed like it might be worth testing. Finalizing a list that is RGu and will post soon (unless I should just head over to the original Standard Dredge thread is this is strictly R/G discussion only).
Glad that the manabase was legit enough for Slagstorm; Temp Steel has a chance to come back (the BW Sorin steel list looks nutty) so Whipflare is just too much of a liability.

I think Tracker's Instincts helps makes the deck consistent, but if we can just run slagstorm and it is still fairly consistent your are right that will probably be better. Let me know how it does.
@RealOg I think slagstorm is good and I think in a vacuum is better than Whiplflare. But Thalia does make me want play Whipflare. Also it does have 2 red in the mana cost unlike Whiplfare. The ability to hit PWs is really nice though.
Also taking out the Elves may have made Instincts worse. If we want to run Slagstorm I don't think we can afford the U splash anyways.
