what if instead of tutors not working fully... everyone was under a modified Aven Mindcensor affect instead
you can only search top 10 cards of your library with a tutor
that way you could still apply it to most land tutors.. and not have it be back breaking.... but also limit them a bit.... especially non-basic land searching(or maybe say land tutors get to look through top 20 if you wanted)
I run Ice Cauldron in Rosheen Meanderer as its on theme and it works quite well with what the deck does, as long as people don't kill it right away due to its confusing wall of text
Such a fringe possibility for that scenario to happen. Not a valid argument in my opinion.
It happens more then you think... against control decks I often get them down to 1-5 life before they sweep/stabilize.. on turn 4/5 at that point game may stall for a bit & that "dead" revenge that has been sitting in your hand since the beginning could easily win you the game
currently for mono green version Im testing cutting some champion of lambhold for wolfir avenger.. as if you get hit by a sweeper, the champion is a pretty bad card... while avenger is much better
havent had a chance to test G/W human version yet.... Im excited to try azorious arrester though
worked great most of the time.. only one turn I had an awkward 2 cavern arbor elf hand...but drew into a forest quickly.
I sided out wild beastmaster, giant growth, ranger's guile most games for the 5 PWs 4 oozes and tracker's most of the time..... though I played a similar style G/W doublestrike deck in the quarter finals, so only sided out the ranger's guiles for garruk relentless... who loves to eat silverblades
all in all was great showing for a budget deck(could have been done with out the caverns easily)
having 3 ranger's guile main deck was key and while makes it slightly less explosive can protect & boost a beastmaster when needed... though ranger's guile doesnt protect against detention sphere... which 2 for 1ed me a couple times
I am thinking of trying out a G/W version as the games I lost I was able to get my opponent down to 1 or 2 with me still at 20, before they stabilized....
yeah sunday night and monday night were quite warm even in berkeley.... I must have played against the other guy, its all good, I play there most wednesdays, its a good scene
it can definitely have problems mid/late game.. top decking a strangleroot geist(plus having a rancor or 2 in hand) is a great way to push through the last bits of damage
I guess mental misstep might not be a bad sideboard card.. I mean delver runs gut shot right
I did consider adding blue for tracker's instinct and invis stalker... could also get cute with Noxious Revival for miracles... I admit I havent tried any of that, but my thoughts were that better to stick with mono green and redundancy then try to add blue, which messes with dungrove for example
the tournament was admittedly rather small 8 players
round 1 played against g/w humans I won game 1 off of on th play: t1 gladecover scout, t2 rancor + miracled revenge of the hunted for 9 damage, and was able to drop a dungrove t3
game 2 he dropped a bunch of early small creatures included doomed travelers, making my gladecover scout with rancor pretty weak, we built up forces on each side for a bit....but he had a gavonly township and when a geist honored monk and odrik came down I was dead
game3 I sided out blessings & gladecover scouts and won pretty easily forget the details
round 2 reanimator...
game 1 he had a slow start.. I got some quick miracles and crushed
game 2 I sided in ground seal and metamorph... kept a 1 land, 1 mana elf, + groundseal hand... once the ground seal got down we both durdled for a while( I was stuck on 2 lands for a while), til he hardcast Gisela using some alchemist's apprentices, I had metamorph though
round 3 another slow controllish deck g/w/b..
I had another fast game 1, he went first and played a t2 rampant growth, my t1 play was an arbor elf, which I miracled a blessings of nature + rancor on, for 7 damage my turn 2... he then had to burn a day of judgement on his turn 3... which I followed up with a dungrove
game 2 I sided out blessings, gladecover's and maybe thruns
turns out he had kept in oblivion rings.. 1 on a predator ooze and 1 on a silverheart did me in
game 3 don't remember the details but I won
played against a delver deck afterwords for fun
my hexproof guys were giving his vapor snags problems... as well as the main deck uncounterable thruns and ability to pay for mana leak on miracled buff spells

are some of my favorite options in my Karador deck

4 wild beastmaster
4 arbor elf
4 Burning Tree Emissary
4 Mayor of Avabruck
4 Strangleroot Geist
4 Lightning Mauler
4 rancor
3 revenge of the hunted
3 slaughterhorn
3 ghor-clan rampager
3 ranger's guile
4 rootbound craig
11 forests
1 mountain
general idea is to get out a bunch of weenies and wild beastmaster, pump and swing
all creatures except strangleroot geist are castable off of BTE mana
ranger's guile is main deck due to the glass-cannon nature of the deck
other cards considered
I'm looking forward to some more games like we had last night @eudo... it was the most fun I had playing EDH in a while

I was playing Karador, I think we played half a game but you scooped because you had to leave by 9PM
I ran into non-regular there sporting a Norin deck with sporting snow covered mountains and many cards which on your list
at instant speed create a 2/2 vigilance which although not being human, will pump champion, can pair with silverblade.. too bad its not human though
its fatty removal, creature generation & pump all in one
I guess mental misstep might not be a bad sideboard card.. I mean delver runs gut shot right
