Quick question about the interaction between these cards. The gist of it is, metamorph ceases to be a creature when it enters the battlefield, and is no longer a legal target for animate dead. Animate dead falls off, but it is no longer a creature to be sacrificed, nor was it ever a creature when it had entered the battlefield. Here is the oracle text for animate dead:
"Enchant creature card in a graveyard
When Animate Dead enters the battlefield, if it's on the battlefield, it loses 'enchant creature card in a graveyard' and gains 'enchant creature put onto the battlefield with Animate Dead.' Return enchanted creature card to the battlefield under your control and attach Animate Dead to it. When Animate Dead leaves the battlefield, that creature's controller sacrifices it.
Enchanted creature gets -1/-0."

I'm having a little confusion with Kira's wording/how spells check this sort of thing.
Let's say I have an Æther Vial sitting at three counters. If my Little Girl is targeted with a lightning bolt etc. and I flash in my Kira, Great Glass-Spinner what happens? Does it work like if she had just gained shroud, or will Kira resolve and the bolt not care because she was targeted for the first time in the turn before Kira was in play?
I'm curious how Avenger of Zendikar triggers interact with Warp World. So I flip say 10 permanents, for simplicity one avenger and 9 lands. They come into play simultaneously, and the only triggers involved are Avenger of Zendikar's. I'm pretty clueless as to what will happen. Will I get 9 tokens? Will I be able to get 9 tokens with a bunch of plus one plus one counters? Can I get 5 tokens with 4 +1/+1 counters? Will absolutely nothing happen? Insight appreciated!
I built this deck (works wonders first time they see it, was an lol moment. Take THAT 300 dollar deck combo players), with a few modifications. I added Lion's Eye Diamond for more cheap mana accel, then the 'no max hand size' cantrips SpellbookReliquary TowerLibrary of Leng, an Ivory Tower and then Sanguine Bond (and a Demonic Tutor ). Yes the sanguine bond can be a nasty slap if you ad nauseam into it, but with the addition of the spellbooks etc, you don't have to go off right away. I went with the tower-bond combo because people kept killing maralen after the first game, so I got the sanguine and tower down then ad naused on the end step of the guy who plays before me, gained a whole ton of life and nuked someone. Probably not necessary, but it's another win con.
For Jenara, she often grows to 7/7 or 8/8 for me. 1W is such a ridiculous cost to add a +1/+1 counter...
Just her ability protect her from Lightning Bolt whenever you have mana open.
They don't even try... they just look at her and hope you'll tap out.
I'm really liking Jenara with Vines of the Vastwood flying around. And good thoughts on outlander, though I'mma miss forge tenders something fierce
p.s.: speaking of forge tender, what if any consensus did this thread find on Brave the Elements as a sideboarder? The deck's stars are primarily white, but most things that would die to a clasm aren't... I guess I was thinking more along the lines of another vines effect for rafiq/alpha strikes/blocking trix.
Not to thread necro, but would luminarch ascension find a home in the non-stasis version? It's an enchantment, which fits right in. Not really necessary I spose, but could speed things up.
Most of the cards serve either as win conditions (passive damage or token generation), card draw, tutors, or damage prevention/deterrence. Let me know if you have any ideas.
I concur. Mono-black pox is extremely cheap to build (relatively). You might be able to pull off a stax if you're staying away from tribal/blue/combo...which encompasses a heck of a lot of the meta right now. Could do Boros if burn bores you.
Fanatic > Harm's Way. It continually provides pressure, forces weenies to play around him, and most importantly, Harm's Way has nothing on Bridge From Below
My thoughts are this list runs too much creature disruption. I'd definitely consider adding Unmask either main or side. If you want to make this more competitive, Sinkhole has been a MBA staple forever. Also yea see if thoughtseize price goes down and maybe pick those up. Dunno how many tops to run in an aggro build.
P.S: What do we think of the Cruel Edict on a Stick in this?
This is the legacy forum and he has cards such as Dark Ritual in his list, so he's not going for standard. I'd straight up cut the Children of Night for Umezawa's Jitte / Dark Confidant
