Hey guys, I've been gone for a while, and was trying to get caught back up on some of the new cards from SoM and beyond. I re-read the primer (as everyone should make sure and do at least once week ), and I'm going to give the new basic build on there a test drive. I just moved a couple of months ago so I'm not sure what my Legacy meta is going to be like here. It's good to be back!
Hey guys, sorry for the long absence. I'm back from deployment and finally looking to try and find some actual Legacy games in my area. I've been getting a couple of friends into Legacy, and they absolutely clean house with my Burn deck. Burn was my first introduction to Legacy, and I love every minute of it!
Glad to see the primer got updated! Good work on it, urdjur! And I'm not just saying that b/c you payed me insane amounts of money to help you out...lol.
(I didn't really get paid any money, but I wouldn't have turned it down, either. :D)
There are no planeswalkers in Red that belong in Legacy. This has been stated time and time again, with reasons for each, along with plenty of the other cards in your list. Please take the time to read the primer...it's there for a reason.
uberdylan was correct. About the only things that we have to deal with Leyline right now is Ratchet Bomb and Anarchy. Which one you'd prefer is up to you, but I'm running the Bomb as it hits all those problem enchantments, no matter the color.
I'm currently running 2 Wurmcoil Engine and 2 Inferno Titan alongside my 3 Avengers and 4 P-Titans. I'm only running 2 Battlements, but I'm pretty new to the archetype and I'm basically testing the waters to see how much I'll enjoy it, and how successful it is in my meta.
I've used these forums for many things and i finally had a questions i couldn't find anywhere so i made an account and here i am. So, nice to meet everyone.
Welcome to Salvation! I hope that you can find the answers to your questions here!
I'm wondering whose bright idea it was to put Denizen of the Deep into Jace's deck. The deck would be improved (though only very slightly) if they'd used Vizzerdrix instead, and that's saying a lot.
But look at how BIG he is! Doesn't everyone want an 11/11 with a big drawback in their deck? Seriously though, I honestly wonder what some of these people were smoking when they made these decks. I ended up uninstalling the game from my PC b/c it was so horrible cardwise, and then they decided to waste paper printing these awful, awful decks. I was honestly surprised that Mahamoti Djinn wasn't the biggest creature in the deck. He's was always my favorite finisher in my "Beginner's Blue" deck.
(I used to build both Mono- and Dual-color decks for beginners, which offered up simple and consistent, yet playable decks for newbies to pit against one another with. Djinn always went in my blue ones...up until Sphinx of Jwar Isle made the rounds!)
If you're interested in filling your trade binders with lots of fun casual cards, they're good to buy in multiples. The red deck has Furnace of Rath, Shivan Dragon, Blaze, and Banefire in it, which were gobbled up quickly by my casual-playing friends.
The DotP decks are absolutely horrible, and not worth the card stock they're printed on, imo. I bought one for a friend that wanted to get into Magic, and the deck is so inconsistent and horrid I just put all the rares in my junk rare binder and built him a new deck from the ground up. Don't waste your money.
About 12 years ago I joined the army and went to Fort Jackson, SC for basic.
Well after about 4 days of reception, I was a hold over for about 2 weeks, during which we had a formation to do PT.
I was unlucky enough to find myself on top of a fire ant colony which, being from Minnesota I didn't know these were fire ants and thought they were the same harmless stupid red ants that live in Minnesota.
I was wrong and they swarmed all on my legs stinging me and I tried to get the little bastards off of me which pissed the rent-a-corporals right off and I got smoked. Couldn't explain that there were fire ants swarming and stinging me because rent-a-corporals didn't give a ☺☺☺☺ so I had to contend with being stung the whole time I was doing PT and taking the pain and trying to brush them off while doing the exercises.
Then I had to stand at attention all the while the little bastards kept stinging me and not make a sound or move until that rent-a-corporal let us go back into the barracks and I finally got all the little bastards off of me.
That was probably the most painful experience of my life and I had welts on both of my legs, arms and hands. It took about a day for the pain to go away and about 2 weeks for the swelling and welts to go away.
Needless to say, I absolutely HATE fire ants.
I'm happy to see that I'm not the only person with a horrific Fort Jackson fire ant story!
We had just arrived at our new Basic Training companies, and were doing the standard "get the crap smoked out of us" routine. Unfortunately for me, while we were rolling right and rolling left (and yes, it's exactly what it sounds like), I rolled right over a fire ant hill a fair number of times. The things were crawling all over my hands and arms, and I had to stand at attention with no movement while the things stung me unmercifully for what seemed like an eternity. After we were finally allowed to go to our barracks, my hands and arms were covered in fire ant stings, and I wasn't the only one. One guy had to go to the ER for an allergic reaction, as he didn't know that he was allergic to them. I've always stayed clear of fire ants after that, and I make sure I take out any colonies I see near housing/living areas.

Yeah, I just saw this deck @ WallyWorld today, but even as a Burn lover, I can't bring myself to buy it. =(
