I have been in drafts wherein I know that the person to my right is in black, but I still pass them good black cards. I don't really see the issue here, it isn't hard at all to know what colors people are in.
Magic isn't about "being better" than other people, it's about learning from every opponent whether you're "better" than them or not. And that goes for both sides of this argument.
Man, all these people complaining about casual players makes me thankful for my nice, casual playgroup lol. It really isn't that hard for us: if you make a deck and people don't have fun playing against it/ you don't have fun playing it, modify it or scrap it. Then again, we all play to have fun, not to win.
I agree with picking this 4th through 7th. I think that it will really shine in green/ blue soulbound (if that's a thing) just because it lets you protect some of your pairs. This is great because it's pretty clear that there is a huge potential for blowouts if they can break a pair. I also think that it will mainly be good in decks with blink effects because it's going to be harder than normal for this pair to get broken naturally, due to hexproof (in case you want to pair it with something bigger and better that comes along later). I might be way, way off here in thinking that, in some cases, it will either be in the board for removal heavy decks or I will be boarding it out frequently against decks without much removal.
On a slightly different note, I am in love with Soulbound. I think it's going to be very, very fun! I am skeptical of the loner mechanic in limited, what are everyone else's thoughts? I can't really think of a time that I've wanted to have just one creature on the board.
The miracle mechanic is another skill tester. Good players will hold their miracle cards some percentage of the time because, especially with the removal ones, it is better to hold it some of the time. Bad players will always play it for the miracle cost because killing something for one right now -has- to be better than killing something for six later, right?
No, I'm not really worried. In fact I quite look forward to picking up all kinds of info on draw steps (more than one already does, that is).
Despite your username, I heartily concur. Even if Souls was clearly better than Huntmaster, I would still take Huntmaster just because of the money value. Knowing in my heart that I would take the Souls at a pro tour is enough for me, I don't actually have to do it. To top it all off, I just play paper magic, so how could you not take the Huntmaster?
I believe that Sorin is still worth more, so that's my pick. Sad, but sometimes it really just comes down to money ('cause it's not like I'm a pro player or anything).
He deserved it because the chance of Sorin getting leaked was sufficiently less bad than the potential good that he would do. I mean, what was he doing trying to bait your mana leak with a bad guy and a pacifism on a bad guy?
I think that with EDH having house rules is important. In some metas people will just laugh when some one casts a Genesis Wave, as they will all have counters in hand. In some metas, like yours, cards like Genesis Wave is a real problem.
True enough. I had one of each in a draft the other night and just felt so... Unclean, lol. It's nice to win, but the reason I play is to have fun with the best deck possible (not the best two card combo available).
Humbly suggesting a few: Borborygmos or Akroma, Angel of Wrath for wrath. I mean, it's in the name. Sakashima the Imposter for envy for sure, with a clone theme. Kami of the Crescent Moon for sloth, maybe ('cause he's pudgy and just sittin' there) with a draw-go style of play.
For pride I would do Grand Arbiter Augustin IV with all the tax effects, especially tax effects to attack. Sort of a like a "How dare you attack me" or "You are not worthy to attack me" kind of thing.
For greed I second Griselbrand with a heavy demon/ sacrifice/ discard theme. What's more greedy than a deal with the devil?
Hope these helped a little bit. Posting this on a forum is interesting because everyone seems to have different ideas on what the epitome of each sin is.
