I LOOOOVE Trasmute Looter!!! This could defiantly see play, especially in singleton formats. Repeatable tutoring and card filtering is nothing to sneeze at, especially if you can discard flashback or other yard shenanigans.
Soooo are they gona show the good cards next week? At best some of these are "Somewhat standard playable" This block is basically Kamigawa 2.0 I don't even play city of brass in my 5 color commander decks...
Cool thanx for your notes, I will get back to this deck eventually, just playing Theros drafts atm. Verry glad to know force spike worked out! I think it is probably key in this deck and is more useful for longer than it seems.
The monoblue deck is fine. In fact, it's filled with great blue cards, and thus I like it since I like blue. But it's more the absence of decks. More specifically, the absence of more than one high-placing control deck. I am suspicious of the meta being midrange-centric.
Does not kill specter. This was one of the reason the deck was hard to fight there was not much removal that kills it and master. Dimir charm is looking pretty good now as it can hit all the cards in mono U. Then u have stupid Thasa... Lol did any one catch the RnD vid where the guy goes " I realy hope indestructible enchantments won't be problematic". Well congrats the thre mana one with great abilities is!
Soooo exited to see Wafo-Tapa back in action in this top eight with a well positioned control deck! I'm not saying it will be easy but besides a few problematic cards most of the opposition is not fast enough to consistently get ahead of Esper. His banning was a travesty and seeing him work his way back to the top sticking to a favorite archetype makes this the most exiting top eight for standard in some time. Good luck Guillaume!
Thanx for those Vids Rickster! On a side note (standard) how awesome is it that WafoTapa is in the top eight of the PT with Control! His deck looks super well positioned, lol cant believe those devotion decks are that good...
I also HATE delver, I don't want to rely on a 1/1 that has to be in my opener to win the game.
Well I kinda just like Krosan Tusker compared to vines as it is also an instant draw two or finisher. Flooding out is actualy an easy way to lose and I dont want something that only draws me lands. If only doomblade was a green card haha. I think we have enough CA in UB.
The main meta question I want to know is should we run Crypt incursion main and also wail of the Nim or Justice main.
The deck feels like its close, the power level of most of our cards is pretty insane. I just don't have much time to play right now and honestly I am way more of a deck tinkerer than tourney grinder. Because I am always making experimental control decks I am terrified of just hemoraging money playing vs Infinate burn decks.
Can some one give a picture of the new meta and we discourse some good tools to fight it?
I am increasingly suspicious of Wall of Hope. It is as good as it ever was at making attacks miserable, but with Pestilence not showing up every single game, and Dawn Charm (correctly) in the sideboard, its value is pretty low, especially against slow decks. I'd like to find a high-quality early blocker that can also attack, even if only for 1 point.
I'm tellin ya Acolyte and Perilus Myr are solid in this deck ! And I see you already went there, the deck is looking great!
Every one at SSG are idiots (exept at making money).
Chapin is entertaining but I can't take him Verry seriously.
The suggestions in both of these articles are ludacris with almost no basis to justify why all these cards should come off so they can sell the stockpiles they have hoarded.
Glad to see others are coming around on Preordain, one had to go, not both it and ponder. Serum visions getting an upgrade is not going to break modern.
I like probe it feels like mini Ultimatum, seriously its fine 2-4 sorcery cards.
Calcite snapper has been decent for me, you pay 3 mana once thats it, and he is a good blocker. Im sure swarm is good but just cant bring myself to play another color and spend 20 mana to get my finisher online.
Sorcery and still puts it in your deck to draw again... I think just playing even one Thirst for Knowledge over an Esper charm can work, its still very good hand filtering, compare it to brainstorm plus shuffle! Just tutor it up when you got bunch of cards you don't want and its like a draw 3.
This looks great but only 4 counters? I think Discard works because its cheap and this deck wants to basically deny all the resources they have any how. The information is huge to plan out decisions, something an all instant deck benefits most from. I like the Idea of some kind of filtering to get rid of it when its dead though... Dang it I just want two mana Catalog!!! Im not huge into the idea of 3 mana removal spells I always feel like at that point just play a Damnation...
This deck "Wins" locking the opponent out of plays by negating their every relevant resource at instant speed. You only need 2-4 actual finishers. Complain about two probe then say to run a bunch of sorcery speed creatures? Love miscalculation, not sure I even realized it was in the format! Forcespike seems amazing in your opener and with the right cards to toos it later. How does mono U keep from Falling behind especially on the draw?
